Has RM missed a trick by not having a line where they sell the UK and US version together in a presentation box? Not like them to miss an opportunity.

Most of the coins in use today are 30 years old or less and none pre-date 1971 so it's hardly a surprise that they need replacing less than say in the 1960s, when you often got copper coins (mostly well worn and flat) with Victoria and Edward VII on.

Not a royalist. I was saying in jest last year that if Charles passes before his coins officially released and RM has been selling some of the them before it gets withdrawn we might see another Edward VIII type of rarities.

I think the 75th birthday sotd might do well in the long term as it's the only 2023 sovereign without the crowned head.

Can't see them missing out on the 5th anniversary of the coronation. An excuse to roll out the crowned portrait. Or am I just sceptical? But that's a few years down the line.
I know what you mean about this year but they'll not miss an opportunity to sell a SOTD. The margin on them must be high given the price structure.

All their prices went up a couple of weeks ago so even the cupro bunc 50p will be £12 now. The silver proof will probably be £61, or £71 if coloured. I wonder if the annual sets will be the only way to get certain coins without colour.

From the 70s or thereabouts it seemed commonplace for bank staff to actively take out silver coins when sorting them.

Still not selling despite being the only 2023 sovereign with an uncrowned head.

Olivard reacted to TeaTime in Another Royal Mint survey - About Royalty themed coins and ranges
I was being a touch facetious admittedly but the fact still remains - there is very little demand for royalty themed (and especially portrait type) coins.
If the RM produced half as many designs but spent twice the time designing them it would help.
At least they are canvassing actual collectors to see what hey want. It's a start 🙂

I just can’t see the logic in going after such niche markets as coins commemorating members of the extended royal family. Does feel like RM are struggling to keep their customer base. Keep innovating on bullion coin quality/security I’d say 👍

Mine show as despatched too, its such a faff navigating the royal mint website to find a tracking number for bullion, don't know why they cant just stick it in orders with the commemorative stuff

Agree.  Whilst showing out of stock also indicates £136.06 when they return.
