Likely wouldn’t have been the only bidder if it had run the full course but high value items aren’t going to generate the flurry of activity early on, that cheaper, more affordable items do, esp when starting out at £2k

No reason for it not to be a decent deal, provided you’re looking to buy at current prices. Gold under spot is always a win. Check the forum sales page (would need a membership, sign up for the £1 trial membership and you’ll see all deals immediately) also as there was at least one sovereign under spot in the u graded section today
