Release like this are a "necessary evil " and it's easy for advanced collectors to dump on them. The industry needs cross genre products to drag fresh blood into the interest and get people into collecting and buying coins.
I started collecting circulation commemorative 50p's and its lead into opening so many different avenues for me with this hobby/interest and now business.
The biggest challenge the RM will have is pulling new people into the interest with a product aka coinage thats practically become obsolete for some generations already, give it another 10 or so years and kids of that generation will not even be handling coins they will never have a coin in their pocket go to the shop to spend it and receive others coins back in change.
As a child I felt rich with a newton £1 note in my pocket and I loved the massive 50p's always thought the queen looked pretty (2nd portrait by Arnold Machin) this is how I remember queen. Usually I'd be given a £1 note off the old man to walk to the shop and by a packet of fags for him I still remember 10 players No 6 were 76 & 1/2 pence a packet and would get 10p for going, this was the time where half pence sweets were a thing, the prise was the 3 pence sweets the white chocolate fish and chips for those who remember those.........There is so much nostalgia with handling currency going forward I doubt there will be the same for those tapping a card or phone for future generations.
After buying the HP set for my children they have now developed an interest in coins and are tracking the gold price.
Whilst we may find them tacky they are the gateway coins for the next generation of TSF members

I’m confused ( no surprise “ so gold has gone up say 15 % in the last 2 years ( ish maybe) but everything else has gone up more , cans of soup , cars , paint pencils, etc , isn’t it just price rises like everything else , surely the only half decent profit , or gains to be made is if you bought say , 10 years ago , so is the idea of buying gold is for many years down the line ???? I’m still struggling to work out if you buy an ounce for x amount of pounds , then wait a year you might only make £50 , feel free to educate me ??? Or give me a bollocking, ???? Kind regards Ashley
Gold purchases can be for a number of reasons, including and in no particular order , savings outside bank or other scrutiny and control, benefits arising from capital gains tax exemption and if bullion ease of liquidity, an interesting pastime where you can meet like minded individuals and in some instances take a major dislike too, the opportunity to lose money on RM proof issues that are becoming daily and general collecting amusement
am sure more sensible reasons exist but there’s a couple for you

FORMAL STATEMENT BY THE ROYAL MINT
STARTS
Firstly, we would like to thank you for bringing these issues to our attention. We understand the concerns raised and welcome the opportunity to address them directly. The Royal Mint strives to provide customers with premium products and services, and we would like to reiterate that we take all customer feedback seriously.
We have a responsibility to ensure that we provide our customers with quality, authentic coins from reputable dealers. As such, our pricing reflects a variety of factors, not limited to but including, rarity, condition, their historical significance, demand, and grading, as well as packaging and presentation. Before establishing a retail price, The Royal Mint carefully reviews price guides and market trends.
As we source our historic coins in large volumes to ensure we can make enough available for customers on the website, our pricing model is quite different to dealers selling small volumes or one-off pieces. We are unable to compare or offer comment on valuations provided by external sources.
With regards to specific issues raised with products such as the Victoria Young Head Crown, we have taken this feedback and are working to ensure that our website imagery is a more accurate representation of products available. We always want our customers to make informed decisions before purchasing.
We are always working to review and enhance our historic coin offering and we are taking your feedback on board. As a trusted brand, we acknowledge that there may have been instances where we have fallen short of meeting our customers’ expectations. However, we would like to reassure you that we are committed to improving customers' experiences.
ENDS
Your thoughts on a postcard please....
Do see how much notice has been taken check out the Maunday sets on the RM website, makes the above sound like fiction

My thumbnail for today's video.
Publishing at 5pm
Not my full results, just feedback about the call.
My full video including responses from The Royal Mint will come out in due course, I am expecting some publishable statements from the royal mint next week to include as responses to our observations.
Disappointed for you
guess they can’t openly admit so early on to being less than respectful
however the issue has been raised and thus recourse for later when they issue the next batch of overpriced coins in a tidy box

Received this error strike 1oz Gold Britannia from @ilovesilverireallydo Its a beauty. This has got to be the only hobby in the world where we are happy to get a mangled product and be happy about it! It's clearly not been flush within the collar out by 3-4 mm easy. Really don't know how this got out of the factory like this.
Maybe a strike your own done with a club hammer ?

When I first started collecting I fell foul of the RM, canny salesperson quickly spotted I was a newbie. Subsequently I have some nice old coins in tidy packaging with an SOA and warnings never to open lest the sophisticated grading EF is contaminated.
The premium to comparative coins I’ve seen on TSF hurts like hell.
Caveat Emptor foff they are exploiting trust and debasing the institution.
Fortunately having laughed at subsequent attempts to fleece me with what’s best described as s*** they leave me alone.
I wish you all the best in your endeavours. I hope the recipient of your complaint can read.

speaking from experience
When you get old you’ll appreciate the bigger coins
easier to see the detail of the designs and find them
that is of course if you can remember where you put them in the first place

Are the birthdays desirable?
Still new to this really and having ridden the rollercoaster of recent releases am a bit unsure as in anyone bothered by his 75th or is it just desirable due to the low mintage ? -

@PlainSailing please accept my apologies
I'm one of the business sellers you talked about.
You sent me on 21.06.23 at 22:59 a message with ''Payment sent'' and after 2 minutes at 23:01 another message requesting feedback, that night I was working my night shift and due to the difficulty of leaving feedback and searching for a listing on my mobile I never leave any feedback when I working and to be honest I never leave feedback after payment (I always wait for the buyer to confirm that he received his order) so probably I simply forgot because that message was the last one you sent me.
Before pushing the guillotine to the public market and polishing the blade:
Most of the transactions (in my case) are made through private messaging, the feedback number didn't reflect the accurate history of transactions made on the forum, I should have a much higher feedback, much much higher.
After I started selling here, I received quite a few requests of no feedback from buyers and soon I realised that personal privacy is very important here.
I have quite a few members who made 10+ transactions with me and their or my feedback didn't reflect this. The big order buyers always request no feedback too.
So, the ''unwritten'' rule on feedback was to wait till the buyer messaged me that he received the order and requested feedback.
I hope this clarifies this feedback situation and once again @PlainSailing I will ask you to accept my apologies.
I am guilty also of being busy and
having care responsibilities I have forgotten to provide feedback in some instances having to ask the seller how to owing to infrequent purchases and a wrecked head
most of my transactions have been via PM and I always explain the difficulties and the sellers have always been very accommodating
what is also very annoying is when you pm people and they don’t bother to reply
