I know a couple but they are quite cagey types regarding , don't think they like to encourage competition 🤷♂️😆

I thought it was the other way round but not my area of expertise. I don't have an area of expertise to be honest.

No, that's all my fault. Got a bit eager when I bit into the side to check it's real.

Silver from 1920-1946 isn't that straight forward.
1920-1922 it was 50% silver, 40% copper and 10% nickel.
This nickel is responsible for the rather unappealing yellow/mustard toning they get.
From 1922-1926 the nickel was eliminated. So 50% silver and 50% copper.
From 1927-1946 the coins were 50% silver, 40% copper, 5% nickel and 5% zinc (I think it was zinc).

.925 silver .75 copper
.500 silver .500 copper
Silver is slightly softer than copper, so the 925 should wear quicker. I think I’m right in saying this, someone correct me if I’m way off.

I agree it might make sense to you but the whole series has ever increasing mintages, and if the mintage is the same pretty sure everything is sold. So why wouldn't they up the mintage?
It might seem a bit "out there" but @MancunianStacker makes a good point. Everyone is happy all those who got the quartered arms get the set and the collectors who want the opportunity to own the portrait get what they want! Win for the royal mint and Win for the collectors, Win Win 🥳

Ive got a number of fondling pieces, this is a beautifully toned (rather than horribly tarnished) silver shield round, complete with a couple of delightful dings.

Just to keep on topic, I think gold might go down or it might go up. 😬

ArgentSmith reacted to Silverman2U in Coin Flippers - The Perfect Way For a Quick Potential Profit With No Risk?
Yer, would not surprise me. There are unscrupulous people in all disciplines. However I think that after some time given the majority of coins don’t rocket in price the mint would cotton on and recognise this from an individual seller. I think if you gotten in on “the grate engravers” series though you are diffinately quids in on all, some more than others.
In particular if someone is scratching up coins.
