Depends what we deem a winner, but in terms of desirability and importance yes, 100% its going to be desirable and important forever more. Its a superb design and the first sovereign of a new monarch and we shouldn’t let the madness of release days distract us from the bigger picture.
Its only in very recent years have any coins sold out in the first days / few hrs (since mid 2020) and that was due to the very weird and pumpy environment we were in. 1989, 2002, 2005, 2012, 2016 & 2017 and everything in between took days if not weeks (and probably months on the early ones). These will all be sold out soon enough if that is what some measure success by.
In terms of mintages these (the 5 and 2 anyway) are low for proof coronation / first of a monarch sovereign sets if you look at anything from Edward VII 1902 proof set onwards. Regardless of what comes, this set is as important as any sovereign set that marked a new monarch and also rarer than most, with the odd exception (1953 for example). Arguably for Sovereign collectors, particularly type collectors this is the most significant and important release in 85yrs, since George VI.
1902 5 coin proof set 8,000 ish sets
    1911 5 coin proof set - 2,800 ish sets
    1937 5 coin proof set - 5,001 sets
    1953 5 coin proof set - 3 or 4 sets
2022 5 coin proof set (KCIII) - 1200 sets (less than 2000 2 Sovereigns in total)
as something to think about, even the 1839 Una has reported mintage of 400 and I doubt that fully accounts for the extra’s struck in the years following 1839.
i grade so I've picked up a few sets todays where I could, i’ll put a 5 coin 70 set together and then move the rest on, a  profit would be nice but not essential.
These are superb and i think once im hand collectors will be very reluctant to let them go.

Always buy the coins you like and you cannot go wrong. The design on this coin is amazing to say the least. One of the most beautiful sovereigns out there designed by the legendary engraver Jody Clark who made the Britannia 2014, the Queens last effigy and the Queens Beasts and Completer coin! People who will miss out and future collectors are going to be looking  for these coins. Mintage numbers are higher than before but not the highest of special reverses. This was not advertised well, actually really badly as they sent an email 1 week before release and that was it. Higher mintages and higher prices all contribute to slow sale, HOWEVER, i must say that all sets were sold out by lunch time and then in the afternoon RM decided to add more (even though they actually wrote “sold out”).
These coins are a part of history, a wonderful design and the first sovereign of the new King. I have no doubt in my mind that these will appreciate very well in the long run. I am glad i could buy the 5-coin set as this design will be a stunner and i am sure will be one of my favourites.

One day the crisis will be over and you will have the coin. Maybe not a great market if you intend to flip it tomorrow but a few months or years down the line...

Hype on hold only until the coins are delivered. Then I predict more people going over the top than was witnessed during the entirety of WW1. Not at the coins beauty but at the Royal Mints p**s poor quality control. I've invested so trust me I'll be the first one on here blowing the whistle. 😂

Well I'm already logged in at the Royal Mint and waiting in the queue for the new Charles III proofs. 😆 Not that it matters, their website is gonna crash harder than the Challenger when they do finally go on sale.

I think it’s a beautiful design and I bought the basic silver one.  Limited mintage, last of the queens image coins, so it might have value, but I bought it because I like it.  Gold looks very nice, but a bit pricey for me.  New sovs are due in the next month or so…..

    Interesting!
    I take the polar opposite view - I think it's great. Here's why . . .
It's highly stylised, obviously, which is in stark contrast to most RM offerings. The thick lateral lines of the pharaoh's headdress give a real sense of depth and scale, further helped by the way they break out of the circular dot and arrowhead detailing around the coin's edge. The viewing angle is slightly upwards, indicating the pharaoh is positioned above us - as befits a king. His androgynous characteristics are very evident: perhaps weighted slightly too far towards female? - but I guess that's a sign of the times! The fine radius lines in the background are an old trick, but used very effectively here to frame the head and thrust it forward. They also provide a lovely textural contrast to the 'skin' of the face. The only areas where I think the artist could, possibly, have done better is to define the features of the right hand serpent a little better and, for my liking, the two parallel(ish) lines on the pharaoh's neck look a tad out of place. I'm not sure what they're supposed to be: some evidence of jewellery perhaps - but surely they're not meant to wrinkle lines? These minor criticisms aside, I think the design is simple, bold and very striking and I'm surprised the coins haven't sold like hot cakes. Needless to say, I've bought one! I give the design 7/10!

It is difficult to know why there is such a large disparity in numbers. The RM might have sent some off for grading?  Or it might be a "Strike Your Own" at the Royal Mint Experience in Wales?

This is a bit naughty by the Royal Mint as the headline mintage figure is 1922 !

I think in January when these are delivered and people already struggling with bills now are facing the reality of paying for Xmas and those living month to month have spent there early December pay the market will be flooded with these.
Especially as most buyers of this will not be knowledgeable about what they've just bought this will be a bad investment for many who can I'll afford it, it actually feels a bit predatory from the mint, there was no need to make these proofs.
Wouldn't shock me to see these sell for spot price
