Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe this would be the first proof version of the Waterloo, previous versions having been b/u. I like the 2015 but imagine this in a proof finish would be a treat - sharper strike more defined. With all the details of this medal it might be a positive change.

Is just the sad fact that most of the market for these coins has died. The US had a lukewarm reception for a series of “greatest generation “ coins. The youngest of this group is nearly 100 and the nostalgia and memories are fading. The history is important, but maybe not old enough to fall into classic collector territory.

I searched around a bit and have found the 2015 medal available for not much above issue price. Am I missing something? Wouldn’t the (8 oz) 2015 medal be more desirable than the upcoming two coin version? Was the medal not well received? I may sound naive but this is a bit of a head scratcher.

I would suggest to follow some of the wisdom from posts like the one from Paul (preceding this one). If you’re interested in silver, it doesn’t move too dramatically, I think up about 12% over last five years. Gold does better, but requires a bigger investment. Personally I’ve done ok on RM coins but I only buy historically significant issues - birth, death, coronations- and ones that are numismatically special like the great engravers. Low mintage helps if the design is good. Having been a collector for many years I can tell you that you win some and lose some so choose wisely and try to beat the odds. There are plenty of people on this forum that can steer you in the right direction

The requirement of having the monarch appear on the obverse forces the RM into a two coin offering or they choose one side and ignore the other. I didn’t get the 2015 Waterloo so I’m not sure what happened back then - how did the RM handle this issue 9 years ago? I won’t deny that I’m sure I will be in line to get this when the time comes……

My 2 oz and 5 oz silver made their arrival to California. They both look spectacular and I’m very pleased. 2 oz looks quite small next to the 5.

Hmmm I kind of like it. Bought the 2 coin reverse proof set. These seem to consistently hold their value and the different finishes are a nice presentation. I have a few different sets from over the years. just noticed the sets are now unavailable…….not bad, one day sellout.

Does anyone know if there were household order limits? I ordered 2/5 oz and 2 /2 oz silver and didn’t hear any pushback.

All these negative comments-should be a short queue and lots of inventory. Maybe I’ll just sleep in a get mine in a couple days

California is a 1am start and I usually jump on at midnight with the fantasy that it actually matters…..

I’m in for a 2 and a 5 oz silver. Would love gold but can’t justify an expenditure of that size. I collect so I’m not overly concerned with flip potential - appreciation would be nice, but not a deciding factor. Good luck to all tomorrow

£555 for 5 oz, £260 for 2 oz (gothic series 2021)

In the past mintage for silver was 3750 for 2 oz and 500 for 5 oz. Petition crown 2 oz set was 3250.

I spoke to my account manager this AM and no mention was made of canceling the 5oz. Hope your rumor is only that.
