    I'm in.
Missed this last year - delighted to be in this time around.
So I'll offer these. An ounce and a half of Australia's finest. Lovely things, great shape in OM capsules. 2012 S2 lunar dragons.

Will also make a £10 donation to the recipients non religious or political charity of choice.

It is time for the 2021 Christmas Prize Draw entries. Last year there were over 90 entrants. I believe, you can see last years Christmas Prize Draw topic here, to have an idea as to some of the prizes. This year we are keeping the same 1oz minimum silver entry.

Anyone wanting to be entered please list your interest below, before the 21st November 2021 (UK time) ONLY PEOPLE WHO DONATE A PRIZE WILL BE ENTERED INTO THE DRAW.

Everyone who enters the draws will receive a prize. And everyone who enters will need to donate a prize as per the conditions at the bottom of this post.

Last year, each day running up to Christmas, draws were released in batches and each prize that was donated was matched up to a winner. The draw(s) itself/themselves will start in the last week of November, to accommodate those who enter from abroad. All prizes will be assigned randomly to the winners, either by using a random number generator or using a spreadsheet program to randomly match up prizes to winners.

If you already know what the prize is that you will be entering into the draw, please feel free to post the prize below. This will help to encourage more members to join the Christmas Prize Draws and to donate good prizes   If you are unsure of the prize you will be entering but know that you would like to enter you can still state your interest in joining below, to be included in the draws, and add your prize details later.

    Conditions of entry:

Minimum prize value of 1oz of silver or £25 GBP / $30 USD / applicable currency equivalent cash value of an alternative prize.

Members entering must hold Premium Membership. As well as Premium Membership helping to support TSF to grow, choosing to only allow Premium Members to enter also means that there is less risk of an entrant defaulting on sending their prize. Any members who enter but does not follow through on their entry risk their account status. We do not anticipate that there will be any issues this year  Feel free to purchase Premium Membership to then enter the draw below.

As TSF is a worldwide forum, any member who enters does so under the condition that they agree to post the prize worldwide to the winner and to cover the cost of standard world-wide shipping. It is the receivers responsibility to pay any applicable taxes and import duties etc that may be imposed by customs when receiving an international parcel.

Entry is available to any Premium Member in any country worldwide.

Same. I was interested in buying some as I don' have any US coins, but Holy S**t. £120 for for a coin retailing for half that in the US? Not sure if premiums will ever go down as I suspect people will not want to sell for a loss.

    Nice write-up.👍
I must admit, when I heard about these 2021 commemorative issues, I showed an interest and thought about buying a Morgan and a Peace dollar.
I even registered my interest with a bullion dealer.  But weeks later when I saw the pre-sale prices via email, I quickly backed down.  This was because I could not justify paying such high prices for effectively newly minted replica coins.
Still, there are plenty of people interested enough and paid a high premium for them.
I see this commemorative issue as another one of those where people are afraid of missing out.
When things calm down in a year or two, who know if they remain as sought after. But for me, I suspect some may wish they never bought the hype ! 😎

    Okay so here’s what I learnt…
The design is similar to the old circulating £1 coin.  A picture of it was shared further up in this thread. Here it is again.  I don’t know whether it will have the date 2022 below the Royal Arms design or not.

The release is slated for the second or third week of November (so I’m assuming that means either Nov 8 or Nov 15 since the RM usually does big releases on a Monday?)
Mintages are supposedly very close to the 2017 Sovereign mintages.
This information is from a reputable source, but not 100% confirmed, so please don’t hold me to it.  We shall see in due course. 😀

Some of us were caught out by our Royal Mint to purchase silver £20 and higher denomination coins initially sold and publicised as legal tender etc.
Seemed a decent enough offer - buy a pure silver £20 denomination face value coin for £20 cash and free shipping included.
These coins were supplied on a postcard but fairly soon after their release the RM backtracked and wrote to banks etc stating that they should not be exchanged for normal money and all shops didn't have to accept them either. They changed their blurb to "commemorative" coins and although they were still "legal tender" they could only ever be exchanged in a court to pay a debt or fine.
I came across this article today where a holder of the £100 coin attempted to pay Tesco for fuel and ended up winning £5,000 compensation etc.
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10133751/Man-arrested-using-100-coin-pay-fuel-awarded-5-000-damages-police.html
The compensation was from the police who apparently ( what I read elsewhere ) handled this very poorly and had nothing to do with Tesco.
From what I gather, these coins, despite their legal tender status, cannot be used to pay for goods in shops, so if accepted in some supermarkets etc. then that's very lucky but I am not testing my local shops.

Stories can be the same for many, different for many. All that matters when it comes to precious metals is that you have some. Keep the silver stories coming. I love them all!

Nothing too interesting for me, but I do come from a family where saving or investing is enouraged. It would mainly take the form of land in my culture or gold, but a pleb like me can't afford much of either xD so silver and crypto are main investments. Entering the work force a few years before I realised I cannot let my money sit in a bank and depreciate, especially with the economic instability around the world. People like me in the 18-30 age bracket can't look forward to a steady employment and pay until retirement so I will have to do what I can so I don't find myself 65 with barely anything to my name.
So bullion is a excellent way for me to hedge against inflation

My parents were well travelled left over coin hoarders back in the day but just left them in a huge box for decades. Found them all as a teenager and made it a project to sort them. Ended up finding some silver 5/2/1 swiss francs, silver Austrian Schillings and some UK 50% silver bits. That was the start of my stack which then developed into bulk stacking silver, then gold, then full circle back to numismatics!
