Don't like the angle of these photos, think it's trying to make the most of a weak strike.  Only my opinion. I think if you got some straight on it would not look the best.

This looks genuine to me.  I’m afraid I am away from home this evening so can’t do my usual which is compare against a photo from @LawrenceChard’s site in detail.
The fields look good, as do the letters, numerals and denticles. It looks somewhat “shiny” but that might be the photography.  The strike is not wonderful but the one I have seen before was similar.
Happy to be wrong (as ever) but it looks fine to me, on my iPhone!
(Mr Chard is kind enough to allow the occasional use of his images with attribution this - thank you!)
    All the best to you

Look on here you can normally pick up sovs for +4% of spot for general Bullion condition, that's what I normally sell them for and tbh they never hang around for long and as for dealers charging premium you need to remember they have costs involved I.e staff, rent, business license, utilities, just to breakeven so any coins they can charge a premium on they will

The branch mint sovereign thread that @jultorsk suggested above, I started that a few months ago and it proved to be quite interesting.
Many dates of the George V Sovereigns you’ll receive if you buy bullion George V from a dealer. Examples are 1911, 1912 or 1914 London Mint as examples where they were minted in their millions.
Where you’ll have to pay premiums are as examples, most 1929 - 1932 branch Mint sovereigns, notable the 1929 M, 1930 M and 1931 M have mintages in the tens of thousands. Also expect to pay a premium for 1924 P and 1926 P and most of the Canada Mint sovereigns. There are some that have huge premiums due to rarity of surviving examples, a few being the 1917 London Mint and the 1920 Sydney Mint.
These are just a few examples off the top of my head but the latest Marsh book (2021) is a great learning resource.

Premiums on mass produced sovereigns is nothing more than a seller trying to make a higher return, hoping someone who hasn't really researched the mintage etc is sucked into buying.
Anything that is rarer - check the Marsh books - is unlikely to turn up in a bullion dealer's inventory.
So if you want to make something appear highly collectible or rare just bump up the price and some will fall into the trap.

Raised pimples are usually not a good sign.
I have not checked, but if you are saying that genuine coins have that particular feature, then any competent counterfeiter would ensure his output included it.

The Crown looks genuine, the way to tell is to look for this raised bump...

    By request:
There is a local pub in the centre of Poulton-le-Fylde, where many regulars used to meet up in one of its small rooms, a few nights a week. One wag phoned up, and got a blonde barmaid, who was not the sharpest, said his name was Peter Hunt, and asked (this is before mobile phones), had his brother Mike been in as he needed to speak to him. Blondie very obligingly asked loudly enough for everyone to hear "Has anybody seen Mike Hunt". I don't think she ever worked out why everbody laughed.

    Hello forum,
Recently I came across a seller who is offering a Victoria Gothic Silver Crown.
Seeing as I don't have much experience, I would like you to help me determine whether or not this piece is authentic.
I am uploading the photos for you to examine the coin.

I went out on date once with a girl. Met her and she seemed lovely until she opened her gob. With her teeth she could of eaten an apple through a tennis racket.
    All that glitters ain't gold!

Tha Harry and Megan coin is far better than the truly awful William and Kate crown showing their teeth:
    https://www.chards.co.uk/2011-royal-wedding-william-and-kate-5-pounds-gold-proof/2469
As Raphael Maklouf said, every sculptor knows to avoid showing people's teeth on a sculpture. It is a really basic mistake, and he could hardly believe that the Royal Mint accepted the design.

@LawrenceChard Really, Michael Hunt (=Mike Hunt 🤣). So there is a story about him? Do tell....
Thanks for the info on silver coins 😎
@CollectorNo1Well, Mike asked for no money, but only the chance to redeem his name 😵
@SidSSolid point. I guess asking for more photos or even better seeing it oneself is the way to go...

What heresy!  Most serious sovereign collectors would give an arm & a leg for a George III, as ugly as he looks. Numismatically, its a very popular coin but can be a bit expensive. Yes, early sovereigns do look more yellow. Apologies to Benedetto Pistrucci perhaps?
