If you do not agree with @BarryWoods then you're never going to understand!
Seems very much like ZERO research and a huge dose of buyers regret.

Sometimes a long slow planned exit is what is needed.

StackemHigh reacted to Stuntman in Is platinum a good buy or is it too new to treat the same as Gold
Given that Platinum is about half the price of Palladium and only about 60% of the price of Gold, I still think it's a bargain at today's prices.
But who know when, or even if, it will take a big jump upwards.
I only buy the physical Platinum infrequently - I have six 1 oz Platinum coins but these are part of my collection rather than part of my stack. I picked up the 1 oz QB Platinum Completer coin recently when the spot price was below £720 - this particular coin owes me £957 but it's a lovely thing to hold and I've bought it with 'hobby money' rather than 'investment money' if that makes sense.
I also have about 27 oz-worth of Platinum in an ETF which is definitely 'investment money' and which I will sell once it takes a big jump upwards...
If I didn't have any Platinum today I would still consider buying in at today's levels but I'm not looking to add any more at the moment.
My advice would be to treat it as more speculative than Gold, and only buy it if you are happy with this.

StackemHigh reacted to Stuntman in 3oz Queens PLATINUM Jubilee Coin. limit 52.
That platinum jubilee coin is a beautiful coin.  However, it's one that probably has a very limited collector market.
I love it.  But it's very pricey and there are a lot of things I would spend >£5k on before even considering one of these.
Personally I would buy this for the pleasure of ownership, rather than with a view to a future profit.
I have 6 oz of physical platinum bullion coins and don't really have any expectations of selling them for a profit.

If the question in the title is to be believe at all the op wants is to change the way the royal mint does business.
The way the royal mint does business has got hehaw to do with him!
@BarryWoodshas a big fat dose of buyers remorse and a unhealthy amount of self-entitlement. My wife knows this and this is how it should be done! No two businesses are run the same way. The OP is clearly deluded if he thinks that he has any chance of changing the royal mint in anyway shape or form.

IMHO the way that @morezone went about selling a vast array of items was just about perfect. The sponsor/ Dealer sub-forum was put to the most effective use possible. The sponsor sub-forum that @arshimo2012 is another that has been used to great effect too, items can sell in a matter of mins if not secs, unfortunately there are hidden posts there too.
I have a standard membership as i can be lost at sea (Note. no boating accidents) without internet data so most of the benefits i would use would be lost.
Having members that do post large amounts of sales could be more effective / successful following one of the above methods.
I wonder how many visit the forum and go to @arshimo2012 automatically looking for a great deal as a first port of call? I know i do!
I only buy now. I sold a batch of coins about 7 or 8 years ago and regretted it but it did get my gold stack/collection going.
    Just my viewpoint.

@BarryWoods Have you seen the quality control on items from thr rm?
Dings, scratches and milk spots on coins. Capsules left open. Poor quality presentation cases.
The rm is not a luxury goods company. They are the same type of company that Del Boy Trotter used back in the day. Remember the size of those mobile phones?
Rolls Royce, Bentley and Aston Martin are prestige companies.
audi, apple and the royal mint are NOT!
If you want to eat in a macdonalds, burger king or kfc then go right ahead, I won't be bumping into you when i'm eating in Miller & Carter or The Ivy
A company that says they are quality is a company that does not believe in their product, and one to stay away from.
1000 years of c**p is not true but sure does look like it most of the time.

Maybe this is so the quality control folks at the royal mint can go to specsavers. They can say its part of a unique design! every coin has built in flaws.

The whole idea of pre-order and inflated stock of precious metals really does infuriate me. A lead time of maybe a few days after the mint has confirmed dispatch of goods is ok, but several weeks or months is downright shocking and such practices show poor working practice even serious cash flow problems paying for orders by gouging customers weeks or months in advance.

I really was thinking  a bit more of just pm dealers but better comunication all round would be great. Places like the royal mint releasing poor unchecked products should be a thing of the past. I would really like for a product to be ready to ship quality checked before sale of the item begins. Obviously publicity would start long before this to create the buzz of a new high quality coin being released from the rm. I'd love to get some quality products again from them but unfortunately it's an amateur set up there.

I've checked all my usual go to dealers in the UK for this Kook and i can find one that even has a listing. Platinum is just so damn difficult to collect in the UK between dealers not getting any, VAT and import charges.
