"Christmas cracker" after it turned out to be worth £1,462.

I am happy to buy 1 oz Gold Buffalo at that price all day long. I am unsure if BBC reported incorrectly on the value or if this is the value Scotland's Charity Air Ambulance received from the "coin shop" but they should have been paid at least 97% of spot £1,545.45...

I always have a good look at the charity boxes at airports, to see if there is anything nice in it.

Never seen a gold coin in one yet. 🤣

You rob charity boxes? I guess everyday is hustling..

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

One very famous footballers wife used to take ALL of her clothes, bags etc to Oxfam when her partner had his latest affair.  She then bought everything brand new (serious serious money).

Perhaps a Scottish member of TSF had similarly misbehaved!

I can imagine some old man with terminal illness and no kids pottering around town in his last few months dropping his gold off in random charity boxes. What else can you do with it if no family to leave it to? Bury it and leave it as treasure for some lucky bugger to find it decades later? Mind you, when a Pokemon card is worth more than a gold bar these days, I worry for the future of what man considers valuable.

Make it gold Pokemon card!

If we do the right thing this time, we might have to do the right thing again next time.
