@ZRPMs if you have a VPN enabled try disabling it temporarily. I’ve noticed that some websites sometimes do not like VPNs.

Similarly if you don’t have a VPN enabled and a website is blocking you, try enabling one.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks @ChrisSilver I have had a look. To be honest I think your right. The other half enabled a pile of security items with Norton. It's probably there. I just tried a funny. Didn't mean with any seriousness that Sharps Pixley don't like the welsh. I'm sure there are many others that this error comes up for. When I google the error code they seem to link it to cookies.

2 x Welsh guys online @ 1am?

Is Wales in a different time zone these days?

😇

Technically, alcohol is a solution..

'It [socialism] poses a growing threat, however unintentional, to the freedom of this country, for there is no freedom where the State totally controls the economy. Personal freedom and economic freedom are indivisible. You can’t have one without the other. You can’t lose one without losing the other.'

"There is no such thing as public money, there is only taxpayers' money"

Let not England forget her precedence of teaching nations how to live.

Talking of sheep having one more drink then bed to celebrate having got a nice Sovereign this evening of SheepStacker.

Steer clear. If it’s a sovereign OF @SheepStackerthen I suspect it’s a fake 😜

Own it and Love it.

(With thanks to 9x883 for the suggestion)

Not a regular visitor to London nowadays but doesnt anyone get a little nervous leaving the store with ( hopefully) nice stack of coins in your pockets? Reading about the types of criminals that hang around looking for rich pickings in the capital nowadays doesn't fill me with confidence.

I guess a few of their customers buy from them and put them in the safety deposit boxes on site in the shop so they can walk out empty handed.

I've been there a handful of times and they've been pleasant to deal with. If buying sovereigns you can ask them to look for a particular date that you want, as long as they have it in stock.

Never used these people but they say they have in stock a coin I quite fancy. Anybody have dealings with them?

They're 100% Kosher.

Just think Chard's without the Blackpool accent. 😁

Over to you @LawrenceChard 😎

They are not the same Sharps Pixley as back in th emists of time.

There recent reincarnation was down to Ross Normam , a PMs veteran. They are owned, I believe, by Degussa, but I have not checked this.

Much sounder than a pound

I have never noticed a Blackpool accent!

I've been there a number of times. A big plus is they take cash, a bigger plus is if there could be a bit of a wait, you get a cup of tea!

Yes I've been given the posh tea treatment, I feel like Lord BlueMoon being waited on whilst I engage in regal transactions.

And the cash thing is very important, they have a counting machine like this, which I'm reminded of whenever those card only businesses whinge about cash being too much hard work to count up at the end of each day.

But is there a reasonable pub just round the corner?

Define "reasonable".

Yes, a few, and the prices willl be far more reasonable than in London.

Also an award winning fish and chip shop right across the road.

The chance of finding a good fish and chip shop in London used to be about 1%, unless you counted Wheelers at twice the price.

Their website detected that you weren't posh enough obviously !  😎

The Sharps Pixley store is located in the posh part of London, a short walking distance from Green Park station or Piccadilly Circus station.

They have been around for years. Having said that, I have only used them once. Their prices weren't as good as other dealers at the time.

"They have been around for years. "

But possibly not as many as you think.

"Sharps Pixley was a British bullion house. It was formed in 1957 when two private bullion partnerships merged: Sharps Wilkins, founded in 1740, and Pixley & Abell, founded in 1852"

Sharps Pixley was bought by Kleinwort Benson in 1966 (Wikipedia).

There is more, but I would need more time to check it out.

The current Sharps Pixley Limited was only registered in 2008!
