My first 1oz arrived and wow!! 😍
I’m very impressed, it seems flawless and I was lucky to get a low certificate number too for what it’s worth.
I know we’ve all seen them but I can’t stop looking at it.

The Sovereign release seems to be around the middle of November, as that is the embargo time the Mint have set. I have seen the design today, and it is very close to those put forward on here, but I will not say anymore. It looks like prices will be very similar to recent years so no massive price hikes.
My understanding but not confirmed as yet is that we are awaiting the Great Engravers coin this month, so before the sovereign.  

Most likely Sovereign since the RM already has a registration page online for a couple weeks now. 

Number 4220 arrived in 1oz silver proof. Appears to be MS70😊 and no milk spots. Yet🙄. If I had to nitpick then the year '2022' is not centred correctly and appears to be too far to the left🤔...quietly chuffed😊
 

I posted a picture of the reverse in the "Today I received thread".  It is just the embossed reverse of the front.

Thanks for the picture! Is the back of the ornament just a flat surface? Interesting the image on the Royal Mint's website doesn't show the stamp markings.

According to my scales the gold plated on silver decoration is 26.02 grams, so presumably it is 26 grams of silver and 0.02 grams of gold plate?
Regarding the impact on the branch of a Christmas Tree - it is back to the philosophical question of how big is a Christmas Tree!

They should pop up somewhere soon. 529 PF70's / 25 PF69, maybe not the baddest idea keeping the 2 OZ in it's OMP. 

Well, here is a quick update...
 
I decided to send it off for conservation and grading and NGC graded it as PF70 Ultra Cameo 😳. Talk about absolutely gobsmacked!! I am still in shock and how this purchase initially came about and how it has progressed.

New Panda design 2022, 40th anniversary
This design with the playing pandas and the logo symbolizes the following analogies.
First, the motif of the pandas follows the 3 previous motifs from 2019-2020, it should show the panda baby at the age of an adolescent who is playing with friends.
The snow refers to the Winter Olympics, which will take place in China for the first time in 2022.
The 40 logo stands for the 40th anniversary since the first panda gold coin appeared in 1982.

Replacement 1/4 silver set came today.
No apparent issues. Not a beard shaving in sight. Well, at least not inside the capsules.
I think RM may be watching @BackyardBullion reviews.
credit where it’s due, I’m really pleased with it.
