    Welcome to the forum.
Sovereigns would be a good start.  ~1/4 oz.  Not too big, not too small and low premium

Yesterday I wasted 2 hours making 2 round trips to pickup and drop back off my QBs from storage.  Up until a few weeks ago I thought my QB collection was complete until they decided to release a completer coin.  I picked one up as well as a compass cutter.  I have a box specifically for the QBs and it only allowed for 10 coins so I was going to cut a new hole for the completer.  I get home all ready to start work and then find out there isn't room in the middle.  If I was to put it in I would have to have it off centre and that would look odd.  Decided to cut 2 holes to make it symmetrical and will have 2 completers in there.  And now I've just noticed that I've put the 1/4 Yale and Falcon back into the wrong slots.  I'll have to remember to fix that when I drop off the other completer.

Crazy expensive though but fantastic quality with the leather motif on top.  I bought mine years ago well before brexit and I've actually got a few of his boxes of which 2 were customised for me.
The things for cutting is called a compass cutter.

Selling on here most of us sell excluding postage charges and leave it upto the buyer to choose the method and risk.
If I was buying from a trusted member I wouldn't bother with signed-for.  These days it costs £1.40 for letter/larger letter rate.  I would trust that the member posts it and I wouldn't need confirmation of receipt and neither would the seller if it's at my own risk.  As you mentioned, a lot of post doesn't even get scanned.  Royal Mail has introduced a 2D barcode system for both letter and parcels where they're supposed to be scanned on delivery and applies to any postage purchased online.  Alternative to signed-for where a sig isn't needed (no sig during covid anyway) and again, a lot doesn't get scanned.
I did a brief write up some time again with some numbers and stats about Signed-for and Special and whether as a buyer it was worth it.  Only SD is insured and for low value items it's not wroth it because it'll be a high % of the cost.  Signed-for isn't insured and the £1.40s/£1s will add up if there are a lot of small value parcels.

A little advice for next time.  Ideally never mix gold and silver in an order from outside the UK.  It's just easier for customs declarations and sorting out any issues later.  If a parcel of gold is shipped by UPS, as soon as you have the tracking and the parcel has been picked up and is in transit, phone UPS.  Get through to the customs department and tell them you have a shipment containing only investment gold and want to put in the declaration.  They'll email you a form for you to sign and return and that should be it.

I said I wasn't going to buy any more gold but I have two problems:
    1) I don't have a 1oz from St. Helena so had to get one.  There's going to be six in the series but I just need the one so won't be buying the others.
    2) Being on here is giving me the buying bug.  I've already been eyeing up items but nearly all aren't available in the UK.  Buying from the EU is a bit more hassle these days because if the courier company adds on import charges I'd have to fix the declaration or if it's already gone through I'd have to claim it back from HMRC.  UPS is easy enough.  Fedex is a nightmare.  DHL I have no experience with.

Last year I wound everything down with the final purchases of the QBs gold bullions.  Then recently the QB completer came out so had to grab that as well and that should have been the end.  But...there was one coin which I should have picked up years ago but there was always something else to buy so I'd always put it off for another day.  Over the bank holiday weekend I decided to make one final purchase and here it is.  I already have the 2, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 but just needed this to finish off the set. Unlike it's little brothers which are stored away and haven't been seen for years, this beast is going to be my fondling piece which will sit at my desk.  Hopefully the .900 alloy will hold up well otherwise it'll end up getting a bit dinged and scuffed.

I've moved your thread to the new member section.  You may wish to look around and familiarise yourself with the forum sections and format.
We have a selling section for selling/buying etc.  If you have scrap silver to sell you can list it there but please read the quick start guide.
We also have a precious metals section which includes a silver sub section where you can start discussion threads if you are unable to find answers and info using the search function.
