Got it! Only 100£ custom charges, I had to give them a value of the parcel. Spot price of course 😭

FunkyChicken reacted to BackyardBullion in Queens Beast 2021 Silver Kilo Completer Coin
VAT on investment bullion silver sucks so much that I haven't been buying any bullion silver all year outside of my hand poured silver raw material.
This coin though....with VAT works out under £29.30/Oz and that is a decent price all things considered, even with VAT.
So, proud to say that coming to a YouTube channel near you soon....
1 kilo Queens Beast Completer!

FunkyChicken reacted to SilveradoUK in Best postage/courier option from Holland to UK
Thanks for your reply, yes, that’s the one I meant. Netherlands Post, I should use the NL shortcut. It has been sent with that exact service. Insured up to €5000. Hopefully it will arrive up to 7 days. Thanks 🙏

Never sent precious metals to the UK before, nor have I heard of NR Post before, but the numerous of other things that I have sent from here in the Netherlands to the UK, I have simply yet always successfully sent with PostNL; https://www.postnl.nl/tarieven/Pakket/GB/2-5kg
Having said that, you can insure up to 5500 euros worth of goods this way. Not sure if this will cover all of the contents in your 3 kg box?

FunkyChicken reacted to pricha in What’s peoples thoughts on this?
They never received the price they wanted so just cancelled . A more worrying thought, someone who cancels now has your address and they know what you collect. I always use my work address and simply never buy from people with little or no feedback .

FunkyChicken reacted to Frenchie in Today I bought.....
Bought today a tube of ST HELENA 1 oz silver The QUEEN'S VIRTUES VICTORY
BU coin from the East India Company, first in a series of 6 coins. Mintage unknown
I like the field pattern, it reminds me the Spade Guinea or "cash India wildlife" series and highlights the design

FunkyChicken reacted to ravenshunter in European Mint thoughts?
For me as an Irish buyer from European mint in the past I personally feel that since they stopped doing storage they have lost a small fortune in orders that I would've put with them but went elsewhere as their postage is too expensive for a single order of between 100/200 euro.they are very competitive but when you factor in the pnp it's not worth it.there are other dealers that may charge more for the coin but less in pnp.
It was a bad move in my opinion to remove the storage option and I'm sure I'm one of many in the same boat.

My apologies for the slight overkill on the photos, but I just couldn't resist to share what I have found in a lovely package earlier today.
As the premiums on the regular bullion coins are too high for me (and pretty much everybody else... ), I decided to go for some collectible silver coins, which are all 1 oz silver coins but one.
In that sense, I have grown quite fond of the Tokelau designs, with the Terra 2020 (photo 1), Vivat Humanitas 2020 (2), Equilibrium 2019 (3), and the Chronos series of 2017, 2018, and 2019 (4 & 5).
From other countries/mints, I have gotten the Nikola Tesla series of 2018, 2019, and 2020 (6, 7 & 8), the Redback Spider 2020 (9), the Rectangle Dragon (10), the Laos Panthera Tiger (11), and finally the 10 oz Royal Arms 2020.

FunkyChicken reacted to SILVERFINGER in Today I Received.....
Won this date run of lovely condition Netherlands 25 Cents .640 silver coins, I only wanted one example of this coin but I won all of these for a very low bid, going to keep one (1940) and sell the other two (of which my boss wants first dibs next time I see her).
1941 was the last year that the Netherlands minted their own silver coins when the nazis invaded and stripped the country of anything of value, after this date the only silver Dutch coins were minted by various mints in the USA.
Production figures for the three coins are as follows
1939, 4,000,000
1940, 9,000,000
1941, 40,000,000
