Roy reacted to Silverlocks in Sovereigns or 1/4 oz gold coins?
Sovereigns.  The dealer spreads on sovs are much smaller than 1/4oz bullion coins due to the colossal numbers produced - something like 900 million sovs have been minted in total.  They're also very liquid on the secondary market; I've seen folks rock up here with 50 or 100 sovs and flog them all within a week.
It's also worth noting that the spread between a typical dealer price and the going rate on the secondary market (spot+3-4% or so) is no more than the dealer margin on a 1oz gold coin, and sovs are so liquid that you probably wouldn't have to resort to selling back to a dealer.
If a 1/4oz coin comes up on a forum at the right price, by all means get it, but sovs will the be the bread and butter of a gold stack.

Oh goodness!!! That is one of my pet peeves. I can’t even begin to comprehend how so many educated people and distinguished organisations use “comprise of”.
But that is at least forgivable.
A worse crime is saying “should / could / would of” instead of “should / could / would have”. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Wrong Again - Am I Losing It?
I know I am not perfect, and so I do make mistakes - unlike most politicians. Not that politicians are perfect, or don't make mistakes, just that they never seem to realise or admit they are wrong. Fortunately, I do.
But in the last few weeks, I seem to have been wrong more times than usual, especially in such a short period of time.
In my defence, much of what I was wrong about were guesses, and stated as such. I did get quite a lot right, but there were more "failures" than I expected.
    1) I forecast there would be no 2022 dated UK coins issued with King Charles' portrait and titles. - Wrong!

Although it is now certain that there will be 2023 dated UK coins issued with King Charles' portrait and titles, and that these are almost certain to appear as early as January 2023, so I will have got that right, despite a statement by The Royal Australian Mint suggesting they would not adopt Charles' portrait before 2024, and "Historically, coins bearing a new Sovereign’s effigy were released approximately 12 months after coronation of the Sovereign."
    2) I forecast, with more certainty, there it was very unlikely that 2023 dated UK coins issued with King Charles' portrait and titles would be issued for circulation during 2022. - Wrong!

    According to the Royal Mint:
"On 3 October 2022, we are honoured to be releasing a special collection of memorial coins to mark this poignant moment in British history. Featuring one of three reverse designs, each new coin in the collection features the official coinage portrait of King Charles III. The UK 50p coin will also enter general circulation." And elsewhere they have stated this be be before the end of the  year.
    3) I expected @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer to receive at least 20,000 x 2022 silver bullion Britannias during September, as we have in recent months. Perhaps this was our fault for failing to tell them in time that we wanted 30,000 per month. We also expected to receive all our orders for 2022 gold bullion sovereigns, and gold bullion Britannias during September. Instead we only received about half what we wanted. I think I can claim that we were the victim of "force majeure".
    4) I was wrong the we could rely on the absence of any Privy Council notices or proclamations in the London Gazette, to allow us to conclude that no new coin designs had been approved, and therefore were not imminent. Perhaps there were some proclamations, but they have not yeat been published, or perhaps the Royal Mint are expecting approval imminently. We may find out in due course.
    5) I hastily stated that Bulgaria was not in the EU. I should have checked my facts first!
    6) I was wrong not to have shorted the pound sterling shortly before the mini budget, but I am afraid I underestimated the stupidness, stubbornness, and intransigence of the new Prime Minister and Chancellor of the Exchequer. I was right when I read the budget summary that the pound would go down, but I also thought I was too late.
    7) I was also wrong on at least one other view about 2022 / 2023 dates and Queen Elizabeth II / King Charles III on coins. However, the information I have is privileged, so I may not, and will not reveal it here.

Latest Referendum Results - 96% Voted Chards as UK's Best Bullion Dealer - Only 4% Wanted Free Postage
In a totally free and fair referendum:

Conducted by the friendly helpful @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer's Customer Service Team:
96% of respondents said Chards were their favourite bullion dealer.
When asked for further information, many of them freely said that this was due to:
Chards having the lowest prices on the UK market for most gold and silver bullion coins.
Chards friendly and helpful Customer Service Team.
Chards transparency in showing its % premiums on gold Britannias and sovereigns clearly.
For showing VAT exclusive and inclusive prices clearly and upfront without having to hit "checkout" before finding VAT was extra like some companies do.
For offering half price storage compared with the Royal Mint and others.
For providing great advice on TSF whether wanted or not.
    Chards impressive "security".
For having a great sense of humour.
    ... and much more.

Only 4% mentioned "free postage", but these have now been re-educated, and will cause no further problems

I would like to personally thank all TSF members who took part in this informal survey...
... Except for the ones who mentioned "free postage"

How much are you selling the 2022 bullion sovereign for?

secondly never over reach or have a stack bigger than you can comfortably afford to hold, as it can force you into making the wrong decisions.
Imo full sovereigns bullion and proof are normally the more popular option.

Look up WTF in Wiktionary, the free dictionary.
    WTF most often refers to:
WTF (Internet slang), an expression of disbelief
    WTF may also refer to:...
    Humour
When you have gained a little more experience on TSF, you will find that most of the active members have a sense of humour, even some of the American ones.
Please don't confuse this with ignorance or stupidity. There is much good advice available here, and most of it has not been planted by paid influencers and lobbyists. It is worth listening to and learning from. There are of course, a wide range of differing opinions, which is understandable. Most of the members live in countries which are democracies, and where there is free speech.
There is often much truth wrapped up in humour. you can choose to unwrap it, or throw it away without trying it.

I may divide opinion posting this, but I think I feel as many others do on this forum, despite the news as of late, that today’s news has been a shock.
This is a huge shock, albeit expected, given HM The Queens ageing years. She’s the only monarch that those under 70 years old has known.
I’ve read some not so many dislikable and distasteful comments on the forum today.
But, I think, no matter what one’s own option is that HM The Queen has given so much to all of us. A duty to the end.
But above all she was a mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother mother.
I’ve looked in and out of the forum this afternoon and this evening. But no matter wether you’re a modern stacker, an old stacker, a collector of Gillick sovereigns or modern releases, be that the Tudor Beast’s or The Monarchs collection with Edward VII resale imminent.
Many people, like myself of this country and also most people of the forum, feel a ‘shift’, a change, has happened today. Within a day a changing of the guard as it were.
HM The Queen’s passing is a great loss to our country of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
I wasn’t sure wether to share this with the the wider forum but I will, as I feel I’m mostly amongst friends, but HM The Queen awarded my grandfather with his MBE some 20 years ago.
It was the happiest day of my grandfathers life.
He said to me “She was gracious, warm, kind and showed an interest in my achievement at the same time.”
We are at the end of an era. Regardless of what we collect or stack, we are at the end of a remarkable era.
I watched the news today, as many others did, the announcement of HM The Queen’s passing and I’m not ashamed to say, I shed a tear when the news was announced.
But, albeit a fictional character, Padding Bear had the right words for HM The Queen’s reign at her Platinum Jubilee in one sentence “Thank you Ma’am, for everything”.
Lastly, I’ll leave this photograph of HM The Queen.
How beautiful she looked. How beautiful she’ll remain.
This is very odd to write on the forum, but here goes.
    GOD SAVE THE KING.
