I want a Double Sovereign!!!

Recommended Posts

As per title. Its going to be a while, maybe 6 weeks ish before i can afford one. Worried about missing out on one. So my 2 plans are get my head down and save or trade back in my 22 soveriegn (losing about £40 on the deal) and getting the double in half the time.

The normal sovereign are plentiful and the double not so much.

Im not a rich man but have a mild addiction to stacking so not sure what way to go with this.

Save for double or sell sov, buy double and get another sov at a later date?

Since you estimate about 6 weeks before you will have the funds, would you be able to buy now on credit and pay it off in full before the next credit cycle so there will be no interest to pay?

Buying on credit and paying interest is the worst thing to do financially when buying anything, but with a good planning strategy can help one get items that might sell out later.

Disclaimer that this is not financial advice, and you’d do so at your own risk.

Hi.

First option would be earn more, maybe you can sell some unwanted stuff from around the house or do an additional bit of work or pick up an additional shift or make a few more sales in a business?

I wouldn't sell the full to take a loss I'd just wait if it were me 🤔

Obviously upto you ultimately but that would be my thought process

Why would you loose £40 on the deal?

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

How much are you selling the 2022 bullion sovereign for?

secondly never over reach or have a stack bigger than you can comfortably afford to hold, as it can force you into making the wrong decisions.

Imo full sovereigns bullion and proof are normally the more popular option.

Its £47+post if i trade it back into bbp today.

Not getting credit, a lesson learnt by my ex many years ago.

Job change etc? I have a job that pays well and i get overtime a couple of times a month that suits me and my employer.

Its hard not to over reach when stacking. Its almost a wierd addiction.

I think im goin to have to hang on a few weeks and see how the land lays.

To add, ive got the amount of pure gold that i planned for this year so from now on in untill December should be bonus. But had the double in the back of my mind for weeks.

I (looking back now) should have held onto the money i bought the sovereign with. Then next week or the week after id have been ready to go.

You could have bought a 2022 double sovereign from

A while ago, first we had special prices, then we also had free postage.

We sold out last week at the special price.

We did reserve some to sell at our normal price, but for some reason, we are showing as Out of Stock.

You could register your interest, to get an e-mail when back in stock.

We cannot get more from the RM, and are still much cheaper than the competition.

Why would you trade you sovereign in with BbP?

Did you buy it from them?

Sell it on here for £5 less than the cheapest dealer which would currently mean an asking price of £365 delivered, dependant on when you bought it a far smaller loss and potentially even break even

Mate if you have a 2022 bullion sovereign your have already got a winning ticket as it will carry more premium over the bullion price of any other special year sovereign.

trading it in for a double is far from optimum, don’t get me wrong trade in all your standard sovereigns now for 2022’s even if you take a slight hit in the spread now it’s likely to pay off hand over fist going forward.

Up untill i joined here a few months ago i literally had no idea what i was doing. Still learning 👍

Mate we are always learning, the blisters bullion sovereigns will be a safe bet.   I grabbed a few more  tubes of 2022 sovereign  to forget about them in the safety deposit box for a decade or so.

The biggest problem now is to be as liquid as you can for the 2023 sovereign I hope it's  a QEII
