Hi @James32
My plan for world domination has a core strategy of majority ownership of the 5 Tola market. So far it’s going ok.
I am a collector , not a trader. I have hundreds of pieces , some great, some not so great. A couple outstanding . These fit comfortably for me in the ‘great’ section. That’s why I jumped & secured. Whilst I recognise that everything has a price, and I have sold 2 items at very significant prices, I believe I got two great pieces for a good price & good value for my collection.
I might sell, but if I bought one day, sold theee days later to make £x I might be regarded as a ‘flipper’ . I am not and sone sell to me because they know or believe or are persuaded that their valued item will be cherished by a collector. That is the case here I think .
I am in no sense a flipper & don’t want that though I trade with flippers when there is a piece I want . But who on TSF will sell me one of the three coins I really want if the evidence suggests I might not own them for > a week if the price is right
thinking about it

Ssssh. One of them will be under the 🎄for my wife in December …. Maybe . She wishes I had never found coins.
beautiful pieces as @Roy & others have said. I’ll look after them & admire them . Collection coming along nicely now I thinkhope you all get a view of the Northern Lights tonight. We head out to darker skies in an hour to try & glimpse them. It was there last night but later than we expected & missed them.

These are beautiful pieces. Both. @Silverhigh
I’ll happily offer £5650 for both . I am lucky enough to have a 5 Tola bar already but it may not be as nice as yours. The Jelenko set is superb. Unusual presentation

Look at the spread though
Yes, @Agaupl the spread is significant & worse for Rhodium where it is easily 12-15% & vat. These are not really trading PM stuff. My interest was a move laterally from a periodic element collection
it’s worked out for me maybe but my interest is not trading . And I have several Pd pieces I am theoretically losing on, but they are both beautiful coins bought 2nd hand though at a higher ‘spot’ . The spread is the cost of acquiring but preowned there is not the full fat vat markup but I know and expect that the vat paid originally should be recognised . Good point though & I don’t think these esoteric metals are a recipe for trading beyond curiosity . But what do I know … ?

Hi @Gypsy
as you already know I am a PM collector & have both Pd & Rh in my laughably coined ‘stack’
I am not selling any but I wanted to point you and @Stacktastic to Bleyer Bullion who have supplied a couple of pieces to me & did buy a bar of Rh & Pd from me when demand was really high . They do get pre-owned precious metal pieces in regularly. Not sure about anyone else dealer wise but maybe other Forum members have experience
Good luck. Rh especially is rare as you know & often out of stock at Bairds who are the main minters of it in the uk

Hi @jockmahon
i have no skin in this game, at least I am not selling bars. But be very careful with Perth Mint bars. They are the bars that are regularly reported as counterfeit. Of course it’s a minority of bars & TSF is highly unlikely to be the place to pick one up, but due diligence required.
you should seek out Geiger bars & images & see if they fit your ‘yes’ criteria. They are gorgeous. I am biased. I am a collector.
@NextDayBullion has had some supplies in various sizes recently .
I add a sample pic . Hope that is ok

Great present @SheepStacker
I gave a bar as a wedding present, another as a birth gift for baby, as opposed to birthday, & a lovely nugget for a 60th.
these very well presented bars are ideal .
nice one .
and my wife got a bar of rhodium , palladium, platinum & gold across 4 gift cycles in 2014-15. Before some of them went ££ crazy . PM gifts are worthwhile and enduring … though my kids think I am mad 👹C

Thank you @James32 . As you know I am an avid collector of gold proof 50p coins , especially the rare ones in highest grades. I have all of these coins as individual and 3/5 as 70 grade , otherwise the set would have been ideal. A lovely set at a very good price for a 50p proof collector with gaps in the collection
very nice @Artictim . Very

Lovely pen Andrew
i have given 3 fountain pens as gifts in recent years, & because they are so unusual now, it is a classic gift.
I hope that sublime pen gets a nice new home. It’s a beauty

Thanks so much everyone
I was absent at the end as we are celebrating my wife’s retirement with a superb trip. I am winning an auction every weekend so I hope this continues for the rest of April . I sold some cgt liable gold last week & this 5g bar is part of proceeds .
I am engaged in my wife’s weekend but I will pay up & honour my commitment . Of course I willClive

Morning TSF
I started out collecting an ‘element’ collection, but thankfully got distracted by PMs & Platinum, Palladium & Rhodium. And then I found gold coins.
I am looking to cycle back a bit & add any special Platinum or Palladium graded to my collection.
I’d be keen to what pieces any of you have. I am trying to not be specific .
I have the 2017 Palladium Eagle (first year of issue), & various parts of the 2007 & 8 Britannia Platinum series in grades. Though neither of the 1oz £100 in 70. I also have the 1/4 run of Britannia Pt from 2017.
thanks . Look forward to hearing from you
