Unexpected pick up today from a local charity shop. Not really a subject close to my heart but 1oz of sterling for £8 can't be bad 🙂

2 .500 Half Crowns (scrap)

3 .925 Victoria Florins (scrap)

1944 shilling and a couple of .500 6d

Not bad for £17 ☺️

Well, it's definitely a slippery slope this.... Noticed HGM had 2010, 2011 and 2013 full sovereigns listed and as they were gap fillers......

The strike on the 2011 is quite a way off centre - is this normal?

I wasn't aware that last April the fines went up dependent on category of speed your caught at:

Category

A= 50% weeks income.

B= 1 weeks income

C= 1 and a 1/2 weeks income

All maximum of £1000. Not sure if it's actual income net or gross? Or if disposable income?

Definitely take the course. It'll cost you the money to attend (but there is no fine) and a days time but it means no points and, more importantly, not having to declare it to your insurance. It used to be that you had to take the course in the county or force area where you were caught but now you can attend at a centre near to where you live.

Well, it's a slippery slope this collecting lark. Having originally bought some 2017 bullion sovereigns just to hold some gold, followed by a 2018 when eBay did the 20% offer, followed by some random mixed modern dates from Atkinsons, I suddenly found myself contemplating date runs!

So, just taken the opportunity with a couple of 2012s from HGM and as I was ordering thought I'd go for a lucky dip too.

I knew I shouldn't have started!!!!!!!
