Here's my 10 pennies worth, already I've seen guys a little shaky because the coins they have bought have not sold out.......do not be premature,   look at every single first monarch coin set.  1831, 1839, 1902, 1911, 1937, 1953...........Us moral plebs have been given a chance to buy the first KCIII gold proof sovereigns and we are concerned about them not selling out instantly, guys this is an opportunity of a lifetime.   How wealthy would you have to have been to buy a 1937 gold proof sovereign set on launch day?    You would have had to be comfortably middle class and well off, what about 1911? Or back in 1839 with a gold Una and the lion in the set you would have to have been in the elite classes. 
Some people now have a totally instant lifestyle and when things don't move at light speed they don't appear to have the attention span or the ability to step back and look at the bigger picture.  Make your own decisions, but how many times have you said in your life I wish I'd bought X when they came out or I wish you had bought more of them?     
 
 
 
 

Depends what we deem a winner, but in terms of desirability and importance yes, 100% its going to be desirable and important forever more. Its a superb design and the first sovereign of a new monarch and we shouldn’t let the madness of release days distract us from the bigger picture.
Its only in very recent years have any coins sold out in the first days / few hrs (since mid 2020) and that was due to the very weird and pumpy environment we were in. 1989, 2002, 2005, 2012, 2016 & 2017 and everything in between took days if not weeks (and probably months on the early ones). These will all be sold out soon enough if that is what some measure success by.
In terms of mintages these (the 5 and 2 anyway) are low for proof coronation / first of a monarch sovereign sets if you look at anything from Edward VII 1902 proof set onwards. Regardless of what comes, this set is as important as any sovereign set that marked a new monarch and also rarer than most, with the odd exception (1953 for example). Arguably for Sovereign collectors, particularly type collectors this is the most significant and important release in 85yrs, since George VI.
1902 5 coin proof set 8,000 ish sets
1911 5 coin proof set - 2,800 ish sets
1937 5 coin proof set - 5,001 sets
1953 5 coin proof set - 3 or 4 sets
2022 5 coin proof set (KCIII) - 1200 sets (less than 2000 2 Sovereigns in total)
as something to think about, even the 1839 Una has reported mintage of 400 and I doubt that fully accounts for the extra’s struck in the years following 1839.
i grade so I've picked up a few sets todays where I could, i’ll put a 5 coin 70 set together and then move the rest on, a  profit would be nice but not essential.
These are superb and i think once im hand collectors will be very reluctant to let them go.

Lol. This and I ordered the 5 coin set via Chards 2 and a half hours after the RM release for £40 less and with no doubt better QC than the RM. Haven’t touched the RM for a year due to rubbish QC but sovs they do well and dipping a toe back into safety via Chards QC.  Cheers

We Americans don’t like a good (or bad) queue because we are not as refined as you Brits and we lack patience.  It’s because we don’t have much of a history.  Based on our experience with the U.S. Mint, we much prefer going online at the same time as hundreds of thousands of other collectors and then complain when we can’t get the coin we want because a mintage of 50,000 sells out in 5 minutes.  Then, after complaining, we self medicate and then do it again the next morning, hoping to pick up a morsel or two that may be left.

I'm hoping to get two sovereigns and the 3 sovereign box set to go with these beauties ...

Have you checked your email? 5 coin set pre order is cancelled apparently by well know dealer.

I know that the designer is...Jody Clark (yes it's surprising as he does not work anymore for the RM a priori) . I can't confirm if the design is the right one, however, if you pay a attention to the reverse, you'll read  J.C as designer.
So my bet is this is the right (and gorgeous) one

Would @Chards be in business if people stopped paying chards their asking price? Of course not!  @Chardsis charging what they think their market will accept.
What the sellers want is a huge dose of FOMO so you will just pay what they want.
The price of a house in an area will be set, the price of a tv will be set, the price of a bag of chips will be set and an oz of your favorite precious metal will be set!
Is it rigged? Yes but by you as you are the one paying the set price. I have a long list of gold coins many of which are freely available at a price i just won't go to, Will i ever buy them? Yes, but only when i think the price point is right! I don't buy on availability and i know spot price is a made up number. I believe that spot price is a made up sum of money that a big cabal of financial institutions and the powerful families want to conduct their business at and not at the real value of the precious metal. Diamond price is fixed/inflated by the powerful too. If all the mined diamonds that have been mined hit the market all at once coal would be more expensive!
If anyone thinks that all the gold and precious metals that is produced is sold then i would call them out. Once a certain level of profit is made the rest will be stored to "protect the investment" and sold on to a shell company for storage to be sold on at a later date when more profit can be made.
