Those scratches on the half sovereign are completely unacceptable, right?
I just can't figure out whether they're trying to tell me they are acceptable, or whether they haven't looked at the coins properly yet again.

Unfortunately there's no choice, it's a legal monopoly. You can't go elsewhere for official UK coins so the mint can do as they please. The best petition you can do is to stop buying the coins, and email Royal Mint with a polite, coherent message stating that the reason you're not buying their proof coins is due to the low quality control. If they saw sales on Proof coins drop by 25 - 50% then they'll start to take action.

Thing is if I reply with my price and its no good for you then you are back to square one.
If you put on a price you're looking for then every member can see and someone might be willing to let go for that price
You might get the coin you want for the price you want without multiple back and forth conversations

Not posted for a while…but this made me smile today courtesy of Tavex. 

Three more little 1/4sovs for the collection. Interesting these. I always said that the alternative mint sovs can sometimes be way more interesting than RM. 

Finally got my half Sovs in from Chards plus another couple of nicely priced 2002 halves from off site. It’s a strong Thursday 👍🏼

Got a little package inbound from @Clockpuncher, not the type of thing I go for (depreciating, unloved proofs) but I just love this coin and bought it as an indulgence. Got to be done sometimes eh?
