Last weekend I had the honour, nay, the privilege to visit Chards Coins & Bullion and meet the coin legend that is @LawrenceChard and Sales Director Adam.
We had an opportunity to sit down and shoot the breeze about a very many things!

I completely agree with most of that, except that I think you are more of a numismatist than you think. Don't underestimate yourself. You are studying these coins, or images of coins, because you are interested, which makes you more or a numismatist than the SJA manager who responded to you.
Your comparison images are very helpful, and show a striking difference, pun intended, between the two coins, although perhaps in the case of one of them, it is a casting difference.

Got this beauty today, pictures dont do it justice it’s highly lustrous.

Delivery of some items from the Royal Mint -- came in yesterday. I have to say, the new Lion of England bullion gold coin is very nice!! It looks even better in real life. At first I was skeptical, but I've been converted...
The new 100g silver minted bar is also nice, but the premium is quite hefty.

I wonder if anyone who has had milk spotting issues with reverse proofs can confirm for me that this is what I'm seeing in this photograph? I took out my panther reverse proof set to admire and noticed a blemish that I didn't see when I first received it. I haven't opened the capsules, so my instinct is telling me that it is a developing milk spot from something picked up in its time at the mint?

I just think people have fatigue at the moment with the Royal Mint. Once things calm down with the releases during this Jubilee year, I think things will be more manageable for us and them.
Makes no sense whatsoever that they release this new series and the Tudor Beasts as well as two releases of Trial of the Pyx and the Great Engravers in less than six months.
I guess we thank our lucky stars there hasn’t been a new Music Legends coin. I guess nobody really wanted a Kajagoogoo coin; they’re all too shy shy…
