I'm still waiting on my 1 oz. King Henry VII. And yet, they keep issuing new coin after new coin. They will soon be backed up for over 6 months. Then they rush to produce and dispatch them, and the quality control goes out the window.
They are in a bad postion, which I worry they won't get out of.
They are clearly minting a percentage of the new releases, for example they had some of the FA Cup this morning. I think most have now gone to awaiting stock.
They will do the same for the next new release, instead of finishing the backlog for the FA Cup.
They seem destined to have a backlog, and will continue to do so whilst they continue with as many new releases.
Perhaps that's a sign they are doing well in some respects. Maybe they will be patting themselves on the back.
Maybe there is an element of making things that are sold making sense from a business perspective, rather then spending time money on coins that won't sell for a long time potentially.
But clearly the downsides for the consumer is waiting and poor QC if they are constantly up against it.

Some people signed up to buy the proof series. The Mint has emailed them to say they will take the money for the next proof coin next week. The Mint hasn't actually shown people the coin or put a name to it. Yet we see dealers putting images of the bullion coin on their sites - a coin that isn't for sale yet.
This is a bit strange to me.
I didn't collect the queens beasts, but I think the bullion coins were in a different order. Someone can correct me on that.
But, I would agree, I would have expected for the proofs, the designs were under embargo.

Found it here.

Odd the proof isn't out. Have they even sold the seymour panther as bullion yet ?

What happens if we then regret it? Will he buy it back from us?
You just need to blame everyone and everything but yourself.

I just noticed the end of the first sentence from the post i quoted. That you knew is was from the secondary market.
He knew the RRP. He knew it was on the secondary market.
I agree dealers shouldn't misrepresent themselves.
But, fundamentally he bought a coin on the secondary market for a price he was happy to pay.

The public think they are the first purchaser, from a Royal Mint supplied dealer for a product paying RRP.
How would they be expected to realize that is not the case on the actual launch date of a product, or after.
Just to clarify, you aren't concerned about this anymore ?
As you did know the RRP, at least you had an extremely good idea.

Real collectors would pay any price to get a desired coin surely 👀
Imagine calling yourself a collector but wanting to do so on the cheap?
At least bazza put his money where his mouth is ( even if he has hints of regret )
Hints ... 😁
Imagine if he was actually scammed.
Oh my days.

Debt is only going to prove a bigger problem for people incumbered by it.
For anyone reading who might be struggling with debt, I suggest people take a long, hard, honest look at their finances.
There is help available. I suggest you talk to a charity about it

not now though 😂 I bet you dismantle washing machines when they break too!!
I dismantled a calculator when I was young to see how it worked. I didn't learn much! Not sure what I expected, some magic way of doing hard calculations maybe

probably because the difference in minting the 5oz first to the two oz is about half a million quid+ in revenue, so they will always get the smaller higher mintage coins done before the 5oz lower mintage ones
Good point.
On the flip side I assume it's more profit per coin on the bigger ones

I'm still waiting for both 10oz silvers and both 1kg silvers. I have now ben told "they are not coming in until 4th March"........"Coming in" WTF they make them!!!!!! ..........Don't they?
The first monarch launch is already delayed into the end of Feb and no doubt will clash with the 2nd coin due in March.
God know when the SOTD sov's will turn up. And they will be flooded with returns due to lose capsules
The RM needs to stop all new launches, get the coins out they have already taken money for and make good the loose capsule fiasco.
4th March mate
They told me on the phone they would ALL be dispatched this week. Which was clearly wrong. It's becoming more and more of a shambles. It must be a terrible show in there.

I've just been on the phone to the Royal Mint, yet again to chase up my order. The fella told me that my 5oz silver GC will be dispatched by the middle of next week after going through quality control. He said they didn't expect them to sell out so quickly and only had half of them made initially. Anyone else still waiting?
Didn't expect them to sell out so quickly? That has to be BS

Really, are they employing people straight from the dole queue or something. I'm sure people hate their jobs and do it out of spite.
I suspect its more of the case that they have too much to do.
Whenever anyone tries to do more work, in the same amount of time, with the same tools, quality goes.
