I guess bad for both......I like to collect knowing that it is/will be a limited edition.

Agreed. I bought some trainers recently, partly because they were very limited. I wear them and it's not something I would ever sell (who would want my smelly trainers).

Same applies to coins. There isn't anything "special" about owning something that is ten a penny.

Surely we all want those limited/hard to get coins in our collections ?

Who is giving this release a total miss on Monday ??

I'm thinking of it - and just watch things from the side lines - hoping Ive made the right decision

I don't see Charles holding the same appeal & fondness of the QEII.

Also to compare to popularity, demand & secondary market value of other Royal family releases ie Queen mother, Prince Phillip, William and the Fresh Price of Bel Air & Queen of Hearts oh so regal divorcee wife

Aside from the new sovereign & next Great Engravers series when it comes out that may be me done with RM new "Charles" releases

    Opinions ??

I am in, if I manage to get through the queue, for the silver 50p anyway.

    Not fancying the chances though.

If its unlimited, I won't be buying.

  3. I am looking to send quite a big batch of coins away for grading, probably in the next few weeks.

I normally send to NGC but this has clearly put me off. Has this been raised with them?  Has anyone seen a response ?

This clearly looks like a big, business affecting issue.

I am not a member of PGCS does anyone have any UK agents they can recommend?

It was discussed many times, by many members, especially in the GE thread. Many members got the same answer by the mint, they ain't guarantee you an absolute perfect coin. Their standard is 68, or better.

And for me this comes down to the definition of "perfect" in respect to proof coins.

It's easy to have unrealistic expectations.

As I become more experienced, I am also becoming more realistic. Some of the significant zoom pictures I have seen, are people looking for problems imo.

I get it. I just think we have to be accepting of minor issues which don't really detract from the Coin.

It's everyone's rightful opinion to what's acceptable to them. If it bugs you enough send it back.
