I think as @UnoWhopointed out earlier in this thread the continuing higher mintages for this series isn't going to end well, for the series.

I do think they did intend to release today. Perhaps they changed their mind when they decided to essentially offer everyone the continuation a few weeks ago. But, once the genie is out of the bottle...

Yes correct. It’s so weird - what has happened to the remaining 250 of the first 2 Oz silvers? 🤷🏻♂️
That's the Million dollar question.
I am hoping the presentation for the 2oz portrait was 3750 too and it was a mistake suggesting it was 4000.

From the Agaunews website there’s just 5 of these sets.
Thats gold though, not the 2oz silver ?

Wasn't it mentioned there'll be a super dooper premium set with an original gothic crown as the final release?? And it was launching at some overseas coin expo??
Yeah. They seem to be gold though .
There was an assumption the additional 250 were going to be put into a set. In my mind there are still 250 of each available outside of this presentation.
I guess in theory they could put 4000 into this presentation? That's not like they were minting more, but not sure it would be right all the same

I think maybe they were both 4006 maximum coin mintage, all along.
The assumption there were 250 going into sets.
I think the confusion was 3750 LEP for the quartered arms, but 4000 LEP for the portrait (at least based on the open orders page).
So it seems there were 250 extra in the presentation for the portrait.
However we can't check the Royal Mint page

I am pretty sure on the Royal mints website the maximum coin mintage for the quartered arms was 3750.
Just checked, it's also 4006. I am almost certain it didn't used to say that. I think that's changed.
Or, maybe the confusion was they had a limited edition presentation of 4000 for the 2oz silver portrait.
Perhaps that was the mistake.

I'd think it's the same amount of the limited (boxed) edition as for Arms - 3'750.
Maximum mintage appears 4'006 for both, according to table / link shared above.

2oz silver
Portrait or the quartered arms ?
I suspect the latter, in which case, no, not cheap

So, is £500 cheap
Which one?

Yes, am I missing something as I have ignored all the hype about these coins as not my cup of tea, are they fetching a lot more then?
The portrait version isn't released until tomorrow. Quartered arms has been released however.

I mean long term collector, wich is the better in terms investment the portrait or the SOTD sovereign ?
Who knows.
I would prefer the gothic crown personally, but that's more from an aesthetic perspective.
Who knows on investment potential...

I could do with a good break from RM releases, as could my bank balance.
Hopefully I get that opportunity.
