Uncertaintity is what we have to look forward to imo.  Increasing interest rates, high prices for oil and gas, instability across the world, shortages to continue for some time and the effect of Russia stopping exports of goods we all rely on will only see the gold price remain high for some time to come.  Just my opinion.

Selling privately, you'll normally always be able to get an extra £10-£20 per 2022 sovereign in years to come once they are not  easily available, due to the variant design, as it should follow the 2002 2005 2012 more than likely

As much as I'd love to be able to buy sovereigns as cheap as I did all those years ago, the days of $320 gold isn't ever coming back (unless there's a currency reset/revaluation).
I expect by the end of the next decade sovereigns will be £500 a piece, and yes people will still be buying them. £380 will look like a bargain.

looking back (?!) at the 2022 should the mint have been braver with the design? I’m inclined to think they should have. 
I also feel the original R’mint advertising for the 2022 Sov special reverse did not show the 2017 reverse… which is the original and all time classic!!!

I am particularly interested in treasure wreck gold finds because the artefacts recovered are so frequently discovered in mint state despite being in the sea for hundreds of years. 
 
To start, I thought it would work to post a link to the 1715 fleet society which documents the remarkable find of the below bird on the Florida “treasure coast”.   This find is all the more remarkable because eventually both wings were found.

1985 full sov in PF70 with the obverse facing up. 1st year the Maklouf portrait made an appearance. Waiting for 1 more to come back from grading and I’ll have the complete set of QE2 portraits

Bought this as a Xmas present for my dad. Absolutely love it, you can feel the history in it. A (very well circulated!) 1568 Elizabeth sixpence, coronet mintmark. £25 for a 450 year old piece of British history is silly cheap, stick it in a £5 capsule & case and it looks a million dollars.
