Thanks Dave, pragmatic view as ever.

In any event, it's a lovely design

I’ve seen the 3 graces top out  and drop considerably.  They have followed the 3 peaks.
    1 the in launch frenzy
2 they next week eBay peak
3 first graded coins back on the market 8-12 weeks later peak.

the 2oz gold hit the high of 36-38k when it was in peak 3, this has dropped to circa 19k and they are not selling.  Still not a problem if you bought for RRP.  A big problem if you bought for 25k in peak 2.

I sold both the 2 and 5oz silvers “raw” both now graded PF70 are selling for less than I sold them. Cheapest 2oz silver PF70 have sold for 1k.
There’s is massive money to be made with these, however there is a flip side, I’ve seen dealers with numerous coins they they can not sell.

Like @FlorinCollector I can not hold RM silver it’s a ticking time bomb, it’s not a case of “if” it’s a case of “when” you will have issues with the coin.
It’s okay watching the headline sales figures just make sure you don’t get left holding the baby.

@BiigTI see you can still get it raw on BCC website for £1,300. They are trying to sell the set PCGS70 set for £1,950 down from original price of £2,250. I think this set was not helped with the fact that they pre graded 70's. I bought the set raw on release and graded with NGC all three returning as 70's.
Future value my thinking: I only managed to get the silver 2oz version from the Royal Mint. Silver is too risky too hold long term on a premium coin like that. So I sold.  If I had of got the Royal Mint Gold release then I would not have got this set but I wanted a kind of affordable way to own this design.
Will it do well in the future I am not sure but if you do own it and decide to move it on the best time to strike and sell would probably be when the next coin in the series starts getting hyped up early next year.
It is a low mintage but the market does not only care about mintage. I would say one of the main factors for releases is: Is it from the Royal Mint? If not the amount of buyers instantly drops off.

@BiigTthat is a good price to sell one for eh.  The last one (pf70) to go on eBay was over £2k too.
Hope you find one at the right price.

Interesting outlook and good sensible advice on commodity investing.
Im glad he said that Uranium is just a short term overbought.
    Long term great.

Good comments about people following the likes of Rick Rules judgements.

Kind of sums up how i am feeling about 'investing' at the moment.
    Especially the emotional trading.

Just a heads up with regards to kinesis sign up..
I have heard that some people have been unable to complete KYC.. The system seems to be rejecting their selfies.... This could be because...
The photos are likely over 5MB... If you take a better picture and cropped them close to the borders and that should fix the problem...
This is a rare occurrence..  but just in case you run into this....

KVT's are an investment opportunity. The last batch on the Kinesis Exchange sold out yesterday and they put some more up at a higher price $1400.
The KVT will pay a yield - the size of this will depend on how much the Kinesis money system is being used. The transaction fees are shared between those who put into the system.
So the value of the KVT will ultimately depend on the yield being paid - plus the yield itself which is paid in KAU and KAG (tokens which are title of ownership over gold and silver).

Hi Dave, That's a grand reply, thanks for taking the time to explain. I had considered that new dies were lazer engraved, but I didn't appreciate the difference in end quality.

I think they are very attractive and also very cheap for what they are, you can pick up an UNC Gillick for around the price of a new 2021 sovereign, don't mind paying a few quid more.  Hands down the Gillick blows the new sovereigns completely away.  The alloy that's it's made from has a lovely sheen/patina and tones with a lovely reddish colour, some testing has shown the sovereigns of this era to contain 1 part silver and I think this is what give the sovereign its beautiful finish.   Also I do appreciate the craftsmanship that's gone into the die work on the older Sovereigns as a skilled person has actually crafted the die.  The new Sovereign dies are just laser cut 12 at a time in a machine for 4 hours this is why they are in low relief.  On the reverse where the sword passes over the horse looks like it's been badly photoshopped and highlights the limitations of this new die making process in my opinion.
Collecting for the bullion price v's numismatic can be debated endlessly and ultimately the choice of the buyer, I do have many beautiful Victoria young heads.  I split my sovereign collection into 2 groups.  Numismatic for the gems and semi-numismatic for the bullion/investment and enjoying really great coins for the best value possible I call it "Bonus Bullion".  If you can save/invest money and enjoy doing it at the same time making a hobby from it then it's like getting paid to play golf or go cycling.

    Happy to talk

BiigT got a reaction from Foster88 in Sovereign Errors, Overdates and Varieties
I've just read all 14 pages on this thread and I have to say that I think I'm hooked into looking at the collecting side of sovs instead of just stacking. I have already purchased 4 sovs so far (after starting off with silver) and I'm now ready to buy a few more.
I'm going to order a 30x loupe to have a look at the 4 I've got, just to see if there is anything that might make them unusual. Highly doubtful, but it makes it interesting if nothing else.
I was going to make my next purchase(s) standard sovs, but I'm going to look for something that might give me a better (long term) return because of its particular variety. I've also bought the new Michael Marsh book to start educating me on this interesting coin and I have also book marked the gold sovereign website of the OP. Thanks for starting this thread, it's really sparked my interest.
Is there any other advice or things that you would suggest reading or watching?
    Thanks in advance
    Tony

    Thanks for your help
I do keep an eye out in sales area, but this is also helpful. I've got my fill of silver for the moment (unless the price goes down quite a bit) so it's time to start looking at gold and maybe platinum

No VAT as we are still in the EU, but you are looking at the price they pay to buy them off you, the other price is how much you would have to pay.
