Inflation meets market manipulation.

If the riggers had a ounce of sense, they would make us all millionaires tomorrow.

Most of us would likely put it all straight back into the system in a matter of months buying naff stuff.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Inflation up, no change in gold price

But isn't this UK inflation, whereas it's recent US inflation figures, already in the price, that matter more since gold is priced in dollars? Happy to be corrected on this point, however. ('Often wrong, but never in doubt' is a personal saying that I rather like, though I can't claim that it is original to me, just highly applicable.)

Anyway, I've lost already my confidence about £1400.😱

I am fully prepared to pay you if I am losing our bet. Will be your choice:

1. 1oz TSF silver bar 2021 in original package or

2. 1oz silver in two beautiful and rare coins I have prepared for you with dedication:

      a. 10 dollars Sierra Leone 2001 Buffalo (a kind of bull IMHO😁), Numista rarity index 97. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces173311.html and

      b. 1 Jital Bull & Horseman - Kabul Shahi (Afghanistan) 850-1000 AD, Numista rarity 57. https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces19864.html.

Theres still plenty of time yet buddy. I would not lose confidence yet. Wait till the next round of US Non farm pay roll figures and also next months Inflation figures could easily shove the price over. Lets just see. I think you maybe quietly suprised.

Two Key dates for your diary @stefffana Non farm Payrolls in US announced on 03 Dec 12 1.30 GMT and 10th Dec 1,30 GMT that could push the price over £1400 although they are US figures the dollar is the World reserve currency. The FOMC minutes released  also the 14-15 december which could again shove you into your winning bet!

Eyes down as it is one way or another now.  it may even break out before then this month.

Oh Btw @stefffana dont also forget about $28Bn in Bonds owed from Evergrande which also links to 156Bn in credit default swaps. Main stream media are being very quiet about that as of late. The world exposed to this and it can end up a daisy chain of events. You have to think about the western money thrown into it. I think overall a lot of chinese investors have been shafted, but there will be hedgefunds and banks involved from US and EU. Personal assets are being sold to paper the cracks but I cannot see it cover it entirely. Certainly interesting times, but I can see the chinese will hold the lid on this until chinese new year, potentially, but me calling that it probably will happen tomorrow!

IMO it needs a longer sustained period of inflation for gold to react any more meaningfully, this recent GBP lower move may well just be currency related.
