  1. Hello, I'd like them both please. PM sent.
  2. Hello there, I would like a tube of 25 please if these are still available at £625
  3. Sod's Law did. I got paid today and was planning to buy....
  4. It could be worse, she could be called Thruppeny Bits Middleton.
  5. I can try to explain it with gold as the example. Let's say I'm super confident that the price of gold is going to go way down. How can I make money from that? "Hey Flying Vee Pixie, lend me that 1oz gold bar of yours, I'll give it back to you in a month" So you give me your bar. I immediately sell it on the silver forum for £1500. One month later, the price of gold is down at £1300, so the day I'm supposed to give you it back, I buy another 1oz gold bar from Lawrence Chard or someone at that day's price of £1300. I give you 1oz of gold back as agreed. And I keep the £200 profit. That's an oversimplified explanation of shorting. As others have said there are borrowing fees, and imaginary shares etc. But that is the principle of how someone makes money from the price going down.
  6. Mine arrived today. Beautiful coin. Not much I can add to what's already been said. Thanks to BYB and to all the pourers, donors, and everyone who took part. Horrible circumstances but there is no shortage of good causes in this world and I hope the success of this initiative will inspire a similar future fundraiser for those in need.
  7. That type of BBC has been around much longer than 100 years...
  8. Seems appropriate. I suppose a Greggs sausage roll with the face of Alan Shearer adorned with Geoff from Byker Grove's facial hair wouldn't show the detail.
  9. I've missed all this excitement having recently started a new job with a punishing schedule, so I just wanted to say well done to all involved with this brilliant initiative. I should probably buy some tickets... 10 please
  10. Trade dollars are silver coins minted as trade coins by various countries to facilitate trade with China and the Orient. They all approximated in weight and fineness to the Spanish dollar, which had set the standard for a de facto common currency for trade in the Far East.
  11. You can get milk out of a bull but they only have one teet to squeeze.
  12. Please do, that will lower the price of beer.
  13. This is the one. Nice looking bars at an excellent price, postage included. Mox 100g bars Ag
  14. You're taken aback? Why is that offensive? You've persistently made offensive comments on this forum about women and Jews, maybe don't dish it out if you can't take it eh big man?
  15. Well if you don't like it in the west, you do have options...
  16. https://youtu.be/Arp2k__CLy8 I think this might be the true identity of the person behind the minimalist account.
  17. It's not hypocritical at all. We're all free to speculate on whatever commodity or currency we fancy. The true value of gold is what people are willing to buy it for. Likewise a dollar. Your opinion is that dollars are worthless. That is a perfectly legitimate point of view, but it's not one that everyone agrees with.
  18. Please can we all stop talking about Nandos as it is making me very hungry for chicken when I've got vegetarian lasagna for my tea tonight.😒
  19. I think it's pretty balanced to have a healthy sense of skepticism. And if you don't have faith in the information coming out of western institutions I don't know why Russian or Chinese figures are any more credible. I think the guy you were replying to was just asking where does the 40k tonnes figure come from? Sure, that is a valid opinion but it is just an opinion, and I am sure you will make decisions about what you do with your money in line with what you feel is sensible, and those of us who disagree will do different things with our money. I am personally more confident US monetary policy than I am in Russia's.
  20. Gold transactions a normality. That tends to be a good indicator of shiznit hitting the fan. See Nazi Germany, Venezuela etc.
