I think the TL;DR is that it costs more and increases risk.

Do you mean they get charged more fees on a credit card transaction? It doesn't matter as I will still buy it, but I just tried with my card, and it wouldn't allow me to.

Try Tavex if no luck (depending on what you want) - they always accept credit card.

Can anyone remember roughly the original dealer price of the memorial bullion sovereigns when they were first issued and the lowest price?

My order from Gerrards, must have ordered same day as @dvl :) and the same order lol

My order from Chards (3rd Feb), so they did drop a bit

I guess the spot price must have been close to what it is now, give or take £10.  Chards were selling then for £390 and now £385.  They have been sold higher, but can not find lower.

I will only be short time before they be available cheaper on this forum.

Which of the main dealers package sovereigns separately so that they don’t rub together?

I would have thought, they all put them in separate plastic wallets. I know Atkinsons do

All now I think, it used to be Gerrards that sent them out together but both @James32 and myself spoke to them when we got TB's with scratches on the Queens cheek and they changed to sperate packaging now, though I have not used them in a while

Yeah I always put a little note when ordering from gerrards. They will usually then send separate.

The lowest the memorial sovereigns have been is £379 for 5 or more from chards, I put 10 into basket and the payment buffered then timed out 😔 gold rocketed £57 that day 😆 so close but no cigar.

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

When I used to do work in elderly woman property, I would always refuse any peanuts that she offered from a bowl as original they started off as chocolate covered peanuts.

How many did you take before you worked that out? 🤣
