I believe you will be able to see the kind of premium by putting the stuff you are looking to buy for them into the basket on their websites.
I don't think they offer anything different over the phone. As this would not be classed as a large purchase in the gold world.
I would also opt for Sovereigns as they are the easiest to liquidate quickly. Maybe adding some half sovereigns these days since sovereigns are getting so expensive.

Charles I (1625-1649), Sixpence. Briot’s Second Milled issue which dates it between 1638- 1639, mm. anchor, 3.02g S 2860.  Peripheral weakness to the legends and contemporary? graffiti in obverse field, otherwise very fine.

    Sorry back to estate agents!
Oh and as a Mortgage Adviser, there is no way property prices will collapse. It slowed Sept - Feb but now I’m back to being very busy again!
When supply exceeds demand prices go up. Expect prices to double in next 25 years. No joke!
If you can buy a house for your children now, consider it.

Most petrol stations have minimum purchases. It used to be a half gallon, it is now probably 2 litres. I can remember "when I were a lad", it would frustrate and annoy friends with scooters, mopeds, and motorbikes.
Until quite recently, some stores had minimum purchase requirements to use a debit card.
Have you tried buying one fish finger from a supermarket?
I am sorry to hear about your dislikes about most bullion dealers (Does that include @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer?).
It is not just the bullion business, most of the real world operates better with quantity discounts than it would without.
In practice, it is mainly because the bullion business is so competitively priced that there are quantity discounts.
As a quick example, if someone wants to buy 1 x 2023 King Charles III Britannia 1 oz Silver Bullion Coin from us, at our current 1,000 piece price £25.02, we would probably make a loss when we allowed for staff time, and other costs. Even at our single current piece price £25.74, we could certainly think of better things to do with our time.
Of course, if we had customers willing and happy to pay £33 or £33.37 for the same product, as asked by our top two competitors in the top two spots on Google, then we wouldn't need to worry about how many at a time you bought. Even these two outfits do offer quantitiy discounts, at which point, I should go and check their best quantity price breaks...
    ... back soon...
    1) 1000+    £25.60  +  £5.12 VAT =  £30.72
    2) £29.35
So, you are correct in a funny sort of way.
You could buy 1 single coin from Chards for the less than if our top two competitors gave you their maximum quantiity discount rate. Incidentally, both of them outsell us by a quite a lot.
There is another quirk which I will leave until later, partly because I need a break, and partly because this post in danger of getting too long!

Of course, now or even come the digital apocalypse, you won't be able to exchange a gold sovereign for a trolley full of groceries in Tesco. Why would you even try?
But not too far away an intermediary will want your gold and you will simply exchange a small portion for the current mode of currency, exactly what we do now - that's how it has been for thousands of years - the allure of the yellow metal will not go away just because we might have some digital dystopian system forced upon us.
Beware the naysayers that say your precious gold will be worthless - they are either jealous or are indeed themselves the temple moneychangers in disguise.
Remember that we are not just dealing with a physical entity here; gold has magical properties beyond its fiscal worth, that is why we are drawn to it, that is why it is coveted.
Keep the faith and keep the gold. Keep stacking and hold till the end!!!

So today a young Vic arrived and there was a nice surprise - I didn't actually order a shield specifically; the coin was a little over £370 from Blundell's and they have some Young Vics in stock if you fancy getting one, although presumably not all shields.  This time I've broken out the macro lens, mainly to get a good look at the detail on the reverse.  This one actually seems like a pretty nice example; I think EF or so on both sides. There are a few dings in the rim, but the surface on both sides is in pretty good nick with decent lustre remaining.
Click on the images to zoom in.  They're pretty high resolution thanks to the macro lens.  Unfortunately the macro lens makes it next to impossible to get the whole thing into focus.  I also finally found a use for the stylus on the phone - light touch on the screen controls.

Only minor wear on the hair with most of the detail remaining - I think this qualifies as an about EF or maybe an EF.  Minor scratching on the surface but still has a pretty good lustre.  Fortunately not quite so much lustre as the Gillick I tried photographing - this was much, much easier to get decent photos of.

The reverse is also in good nick, perhaps a more comfortable EF than the obverse.  You can still see all of the detail, including the lions which are apparently the first to go.  Sydney mint mark (above the Rose at the bottom) - Not particularly rare with a mintage around 1.5m.  Actually looked up something in my Marsh book.
Edit: Spent a bit of time diddling about with focus and sharpening in post and got better detail.

So much 'character' If only coins could talk!
Any interpretation ideas on the graffiti?
    Damaged 'E' die apparently common.
Bit of haymarking, which I think adds to the 'character'.
And it's got the wrong crown according to Marsh, should have 4 more pearls?

I get these calls all the time and my strategy is not even to say NO.  I just put the phone down.  The main clues that it will be an unwelcome call are :
    1. A long gap of silence or white noise before anyone speaks
    2. Someone asking to speak to the owner of the business and often starting the sentence with 'yeah'
    3. A decidely Indian accent announcing himself as Tony or Mike from BT when he is clearly Raschid or Achmed from Calcutta Scam Central.
The phone goes straight back down in every instance without a word from me.

These are beautiful coins, being Ukrainian, it is a special coin to me. Despite the 20 years I have lived in Canada, it is still where my soul belongs. After the war is over, I am getting as many of those as I can and sharing it with the SF members that want to get one. Thank you for your support UK, it is thanks to you in many regards that we keep on fighting.
