It just pipped below £16 didn't it?
Gold was steady, perhaps up? Just goes to highlight the importance of diversity.

Please don’t discuss banned members. He was banned because he replied very disrespectfully to my message to him about why I hid his post where he stated factually incorrect information that he was not offered a discounted rate.
The terms and conditions clearly states:
He was however offered to rejoin at a substantially discounted membership rate, to which he refused.
I believe his anger against the forum all started from when he felt he should have won the writing competition. Which was supposed to be a bit of fun for members, but he did not take it like a sports man or a bit of fun and instead insulted the winner and other forum members saying the winner’s article was rephrased: rubbish.

This member has been permanently banned solely for being disrespectful and telling me to never contact him. He clearly doesn’t want to be a member of the forum. Any subsequent posts in regards to discussing this member will be hidden as I do not wish to bring issues onto the forum.

Well i am not surprised. Kman posted a veiled slur directed at Chris.
TSF is a great forum - it is the best precious metals forum by a long way. If you want to be a member and post here you don't bite the hand that feeds you.

    Yes, I would.
Saving up to buy a full ounce is fraught with difficulty: sod's law says the price of gold will increase when your saving begins and the purchase of a full ounce gets further away.
Your interests change, fickle as we are, and the savings get diverted elsewhere. God forbid, you're faced with an personal emergency or a family dilemma.
The strategy I follow, and many others too, is to pound cost average. If you can afford a quarter now, buy one and start saving for the next. Don't worry about the spot price, it will balance out.
Your stack will increase, you will feel more comfortable handling coins and making offers and you can trade your coins up and sideways.

Ive posted about food inflation a few times,  as said before the government need cheap food to keep the masses happy.    Next year will be a shock for everyone food inflation will be high and some things won’t be available
2 big things fertiliser gone from £200 last year to £475 this if you can get it. Tens of thousands of acres of grain won’t be planted this year.     Added to this the government’s green revolution whereby they are paying for wild flowers and bird seed mixes are taking as much out the system also.   So Britain will have to get used to having some pretty flowers and some nice birds but bread will be short.
government are too blind to see what’s happening but this time next year food will be a struggle

Why do folk not state the obvious?  There's far to much stuff offered here. Endless bumps and flipped gear offer. Stuff always sold quick be good person to person, stacker to stacker now it's a good amount of amateur dealers hoovering up fairly honestly priced stuff and then offered back to forum. Sadly it's not once it was here. Why do I want to waste an hour trawling through  and using my spare time through, knowing fine we'll there's not much of anything at good value/what I couldn't get from a ln established dealer.
    Sorry rant over

    Ok, if this correct...
What will we do with our gold? How do we convert it to a gold backed digital currency?
Will it be revalued like 1933?
Will we have to accept the government's potentially criminal exchange rates? Black markets?

China and Russia will decide the value - He who has the gold makes the rules. That's as long as the BIS doesn't get in their first and revalues gold. In the run up to year end and full Basel III compliance, the BIS is getting rid of all the unallocated paper gold on its books. This is causing all the volatility in the metals markets. Basel III downgrades the unallocated spot gold (paper spot gold) and upgrades real allocated physical gold. Some people might say this is a move to stabilise the system, like China is doing when she blows off the froth and tightened the rules last year so speculative bubbles like Evergrande get burst.
How could you exchange your physical for digital? - well you could sell it for digital gold like you do for fiat. There might well also be systems like the (EPD) Exchange Physical for Digital that Kinesis has. So you could deposit metal in the system and get KAU and KAG.
Some people have been taking notice for a long time and joining the dots. i don't know who these people are, it can't be me b/c i'm a lunatic.

I've been adding platinum for a while, more so the past couple of weeks.
But platinum is not a monetary metal like silver and gold. Just a commodity and taxed too!
I buy it because of its historical relationship to gold, and I agree something does not add up!

i had a few bits of platinum which were lost in that tragic boating accident.
i hold and was actually searching out some more platinum miners in recent weeks.
There has been all that dodgy business in South Africa - seems to have gone a bit quiet recently in the controlled media - but looking it still looks bad. S Africa is a big producer. Price should be much higher in the circumstances.
i've got some Norilsk Nickel on the Moscow exchange, some Sibanye-Stillwater (which also has uranium reserves) and Impala Platinum.
i think platinum is undervalued. In the mind of most folk, platinum has been seen as a pricier metal than gold. It was the posh wedding ring. Then we had the VW diesel business and platinum fell out of favour. Palladium got really expensive. Platinum is not far off half the price of gold, there is something not quite right i think. i think there is a lot of upside there for platinum. Now when gold takes back the crown from the USD as king currency, would platinum keep up in that environment when it is not seen as more than an exotic monetary metal? - i don't know. i think it could well get left behind. But i still think it has been a laggard, with limited downside and lots of potential. i notice Mr Chard keeps mentioning it - perhaps he has a lot of platinum coins to get shut of.

there is a time and a place for everything.
nothing goes up in a straight line.
for metals to correct might take years/decades.
consider this, it's been decades since the height of the british empire. yet each £ is still worth
more than $1. currently the top economy in the world yet each $ can't buy a £. how is that logical?
answer is it's not. but it takes time. the decades that have past is not yet enough time.

unless an emergency, in the night, if you run out of milk, it can wait till the morning.
there is a time and a place for everything.

(just so that you know that I'm not having a go at you personally. we've all been known to only
hold rock, come hell or high water. there is no shame in holding rock, everyone has done it. once
you've learnt to hold rock, you can use it as a stepping stone to discover more.)

there is a time when it's favourable to hold physical silver. but the charts say that that time is not
here yet. I never heard any forum 'price suppression' objections a few years ago when I said it was
favourable to hold gold for at least a few months or more. why do all these objections suddenly
appear when I say the price is likely to (overall)fall over the next 6 months or so?

for the trading of gold, a century amounts to next to nothing. for a person waiting, a century is a
    lifetime wasted.

I own a small physical amount of platinum and also think it has good upside potential. Given the vat situation however and the relative small scale additions I will make, I am prepared to take a chance going the ETF route in this instance. sacrilege I know.

I have 5 oz of physical Pt, which is as much as I want to hold right now.  If the Royal Mint releases some special 2022 Platinum Jubilee themed Pt coins I will add to my physical stack but only if the coins are bullion rather than proof.
I recently added to my Pt ETF holdings when the price fell back below £700.  I think I have enough for now and have about 30 oz, bought in at an average price of about £675.
I think it's probably good value to buy below £750.
