This is TLT (30 year US bonds) and Gold
If bond yields continue to go up expect gold to come down
I wouldn't be shocked if it comes down another 5-10% in the next few months but who knows, will depend on the new normal - how well the vaccines seem to work and how optimistic people are on global economy recovery
I personally think at some point this year an event will happen or a signal will appear that things aren't going to get back on track and that's when gold will kick on but who knows

But I put it next to a small desk fan and things blew off phew, can't see any real problems now

Indeed, and on many occasions some dealers (such as Coin Connection) have offered new releases on the day of release at a better price. That coupled with discount codes has proven to be attractive.  

Did any dealer actually offer them for sale at RRP? 
Isn't the point of dealers to help sell the coins not to be a roadblock between the mint and customers

I sometimes do work which involves sending paperwork in the post.  The instructions from the employing firm are; "For safety do not send by ordinary mail use only second class recorded."
The nature of the work is no paperwork no payment so I always use Royal Mail Special Delivery, guaranteed to be delivered by 13:00 next day.
It is more expensive, but well worth it.
"Low" value ebay sales are very tricky - the Special Delivery cost really eats into the £'s but give the best peace of mind possible.
I had a case recently where the parcel was delivered 24 hours late.  The process for claiming a refund and the communication from the Post Office were absolutely fantastic.
So RM Special Delivery carries my very highest recommendation.

From Hatton Garden metals 1oz Gold 2010 Britannia first time bought from them had no issues. 2% over spot and because bought from them last year but item was not in stock they provided me with free shipping on this order.

I received my call- I thought it was handled very well by the lady who rang- 'glitch on the system' and lots of apologies and explanation of what went wrong their end and she explained that HGM could get a supply but 'not at that price' but asked if I wanted the quantity I ordered at their supply price per coin- which was £1250- I declined.   She promised to send cash straight back to me.  'Glitches' happen I guess.

This is all understandable and good practice when dealing with strangers, in particular if we are talking several grand. You are right: you could have lost the whole lot in a scam. In that way you have discovered that there is a safe route out of gold. 
You shouldn't feel bad for not selling here, they just equally feel their own lost opportunity, so don't. 

Congratulations on coin @JCRJM! The 1989 sovereign is an absolute stunner.
In the meantime I received a coin half the face value but double the weight.
