Yep. These are before and after pics
One is Una and her lion getting ready for a night out, the other is them returning at 9am the next morning

TeaTime got a reaction from Zhorro in 2024 Britannia proof range
Not the best design but, too me, not unappealing.
Ordered the 2 coin set as these always sell out quickly and seem to hold their value.... Lucky i logged on to TSF this morning or i would never have known these were up.
On another note - the Lion & Eagle bullion ouncers landed today. Very quickly despatched and well packaged and riddled with milky badness (i would say spots but these are more like splashes). Looks like i will be force-toning these at some point. 🙄

he he he - i can guarantee that the UK does not get preferential treatment. I NEVER receive the e-mail notifications. Every time i log on to my account the notifications are switched off. I then switch them back on again only for them to default to 'you are currently opted out of notifications' as soon as i log off. As for signing up for a particular release - again, i never receive the notification. Horrendous site.
I basically use TSF as my source of information.

For sleepers the ones to look at are all the BU issues. I just spend about £30 on a Benjamin Britton 50p sealed pack and 1) I don’t even know who he is, 2) i don’t collect 50p coins!
Some of the Queens Beasts BU packs go for many times rrp

I know you know this but the 70 thing is about accounting, not about coin collecting. The premium on the 70s is for the money managers and rich collectors to fill out their spreadsheets. For an ordinary person there is no difference between a 69 and a 70. I'm sure you've seen this too, but time can often leave 69s looking visibly superior with the naked eye to 70s
If something is a 69 then it basically excludes the largest sources of capital in the market for modern coins, hence dramatic price inequalities between what is essentially two examples of the same coin that are indistinguishable with the human eye

TeaTime reacted to SidS in Sixpences on Numista, dimensions double but purity and weight remain the same?
Well first and foremost, your sixpence is genuine, no worries there.
From 1816 the standard measurements are diameter of 19.41mm and 2.83g - the varied weights and thicknesses at numista will be down to wear. Very worn sixpences can be half as thick etc.
The 1674-1787 era sixpences are a little more varied. Coins were struck with weight being the primary concern. The flans can vary in diameter and thickness quite a bit. This in part was due to the technology of the time, cutting blanks so they weighed correct rather than machine cut precision etc. Things just weren't standardised as they became with the commencement of steam driven presses used by Boulton and Watt from 1797 with the cartwheel copper coinage. I've got a pile of these sixpences and when stacked up they're all different diameters, the thicknesses vary as well but these are less noticeable.
Sixpences were struck to be approx 3g, obviously with wear it drops, so 2.97g is perfectly respectable.

Well.... It is a lion and it is a depiction of Una so the description seems accurate 😁.
It's no different to the Britannia coin depictions that vary from quintessentially beautiful women to Les Dawson in drag.
    Probably.

TeaTime got a reaction from Muncle in Imperfect proof coins. Where does one draw the line?
My opinion would be that a new, untouched proof coin should look flawless when viewed with the naked eye. There should be no scratches, marks, divots or discolouration visible when viewed without magnification.
Once you start magnifying then everything becomes subjective. Everything and anything ever manufactured in the history of the world will show imperfections if you zoom in enough.  A proof coin is not a guarantee of perfection, it is simply the 'best' the mint can produce at that time.... Imagine 10 x magnification used on a William III proof coin - i would bet a months salary that the fields would look like the surface of the moon.
If a dealer had sold me a new proof coin that had visible defects i would expect to be able to return the coin - but only if they were obvious without magnification. In this case it sounds like the dealer has accepted your opinion of the coin and offered a refund so i see no issues.

Received a very unusual pair of Philip Nathan design Britannias today, only 2,000 of each minted! (fired?)

Also got these tiny doll's house plates made out of silver:

I really like these sort of oddities. A horse and a lion operating a coin press, and coin blanks on the opposite side. Rumour has it, this is how coins are still made at the mint.

It has zero baring on whether something is insured.
I have been asked by post office workers many times and each time I say, "nothing prohibited" and if they ask again to clarify I say I'm not telling you anything else. Captain subtext says "mind your business and jog on"
    Works every time for me

😮🤔Trouble is I have seen auctions where they have gone straight in with the top price some has left as a bid instead of working up to it. The person either doesn’t get the item or pays more than they should have. At the end of the day you can’t beat the adrenaline buzz of being in an auction room live bidding… unfortunately, virtually all coin auctions of any worth are miles from me🤔🙁

The RM has a history of producing excruciatingly bad (and often lazily designed) modern royal themed coins that appeal to maybe 0.001% of the population.. Yet they still keep making them.
Nearly naked beautiful women*  is what we want. Get to it RM.

    * substitute your preference if you must.
