Pete got a reaction from Wileyfox in Packaging a coin tube
    1. Place a piece of folded bubble wrap or packing bean(s) inside the tube to stop the coins rattling.
Give it a good shake ( keep your thumb on the lid though ! ) to check before wrapping further.
    2. Either wrap the tube in several turns of clingfilm or place in a polythene bag, wrap tightly then tape to close.
I never tape the bare lid because many tapes leave a disgusting sticky residue.
    3. Assuming you are posting special delivery, package dimensions are less critical so wrap the tube in multiple turns of bubble wrap giving several centimetres of thickness all round.
Alternatively a small cardboard box is a good suggestion but fill it with packing - paper, bubble wrap, polystyrene beans etc. so the tube doesn't have room to move.
    Job done !

With UK VAT adding 20% I would need to believe in a meteoric price rise in the metal before parting with that amount of cash.
If investing in PM and you have that to spend, definitely give thought to gold as suggested earlier.

    A few thoughts from me….
I would upgrade your membership to benefit from from the comparison tool on this site.
If you are after bullion and are flexible with what you purchase I would start with the forum and then look at dealers.
Personally, I don’t go with the cheapest just to save a couple of quid, customer service / support is just as important for me.

We weren't the first stackers as this picture illustrates.
Many of us jokingly comment about burying our coins in the back garden.
Well there is no shame in that but when you forget about your buried treasure and your secret isn't shared then it can take 2,000 years for your ancestors to uncover your stack.
This batch was valued at around £10 million and I took the pictures during a visit a few days ago.

I look for the bargains in the supermarkets.
If favourite shampoo, shower gel, breakfast cereal is on offer that gives excellent returns.
For example my cereal on offer at £2.00 rather than regular price of £3.50 - buy 10 boxes and that gets me £35 worth for £20 a return on investment of 75% !!!!
[ in case of argument the maths used are - invest £20 to acquire assets worth £35. Gain is £15 over £20 hence 75% ]
Works with many items that are regularly used and zero risk.

When I was still cutting my teeth on silver stacking I bought quite a lot of beautiful silver proofs just like the one you have.
Sturdy boxes, numbered certificate and often low mintage.
They filled a cupboard and then I decided to sell all of them.
Unfortunately the prices I was obtaining were seriously disappointing despite the beauty and perfection of each coin.
I thought they would be more desirable and considering their condition etc merited a premium bad sadly not.
It is all about the demand at the time and if there are any other newbies drawn into the net - like me when I started.
Best of luck moving it on but just sharing my experience for what it's worth.

A warning to owners of pristine proofs.
When you inspect your lovely perfect coin on a sunny day you suddenly spot a few tiny dust particles on your coin.
Avoid wiping or brushing to try and remove these small particles as 9 times out of 10 you will leave visible fine lines on smooth shiny surfaces.
These fine lines may not be noticeable at first but at some angles under certain lighting they will be there.
Gold and silver are very soft materials and scratch so readily unlike camera lenses and coated prescription eyewear which you can dust off and wipe.
Not so with pure metals unfortunately.
To remove dust you need to use a blast of clean air which most of us will not have of course.
