I believe so (that it will be the only sovereign anyway) looking at the landing page on the RM website:

It is the coronation year sovereign and the only one to feature Charles with a crown.

Be wary of the "sold out" on Royal Mint and also their total available numbers.
I suspect a lot of these were held back for VIP's and might filter onto the website over the next 24 hours.
Worth keeping an eye on if you wanted to buy but have missed out.

When you are talking about graded coins, you are generally going down the collectable market. Like all things collectable, some go up in price, some don't. It depends entirely when you buy and at what price.
During the last 6- 8 years or so, some graded coins have made a healthy profit. We seem to be off the peak in general but historical graded coins continue to rise. The graded modern proof area certainly seems to have cooled substantially after the pumped-up period of a year or two ago.
It is a risky thing to buy already graded coins unless you have a good understanding of what you are buying.

It's like any "new thing" in the "investment" world. The early adopters make all the money. Once the crowd gets to know about it, it's time to sell.

I bought this 1865 shield back half sovereign die 23 in town yesterday and noticed the die crack through the number six on the date. Certain light and angles show it better.
These are best close ups I can manage, so apologies for the quality.

Rare ? I'd say so. Not many of those around. 😆

I’m not sure how pertinent this topic is here, but the aesthetic of Princesses Catherine’s and Charlotte’s headwear at the Coronation wasn’t lost on me.
Apparently King Charles wanted no tiaras or coronets worn at the Coronation (presumably to avoid any ostentatious displays of wealth), so the two Princesses wore leaf-embroidered “headpieces” of silver bullion with silver thread and crystals.

The headpieces reminded me so much of the laurel headpieces historically depicted on the effigies of Monarchs, the most recent being of course the Mary Gillick portrait of QE II.
Since we got a “crowned portrait” of KC III wearing the now non-existent Tudor crown, I do wonder if the Princesses’ headwear might have brought into the realm of possibility the return of a “laureate portrait” at some point again.
Wouldn’t that be rather cool. 😀

I will jump in the launch day Monday queue shenanigans, even if its just for the craic here and to spoil a flippers day taking their place ahead of them in the queue
If i can land a SOTD it'll be a bonus

5 over 5 I think.  I certainly don’t recall seeing or hearing of this before.  Looks like the 0 spacing is off as well.
Plenty of unlisted (not in Marsh) 1850 errors out there.  They seemed to have had problems with the date this year.  Ones I have noted (have seen in action)
    - Roman I for 1 (Rareish)
    - 5 over 8 (V Rare)
    - 0 Lower than the rest of the numbers (V Rare)
    - Suspected 0 over 9
    Scarcity rating is my guesstimate!
Also in this year there is the A for V in Victoria that is not in Marsh (I believe), along with other errors.

Overall the KCIII obverse is dignified with or without a crown. Compare it with the odd looking crown of the Jubilee Victoria 1887. One thing’s for sure, he always has the best interests of his family at heart, and supporting the Russo-Ukrainian war….!

My only recent dealing with Bairds was sending them a mixed bag of broken jewellery. The invoice they issued was short of my estimate as they had classified it all as 9ct even though I knew there was some 18ct in there.
I was told bluntly on the phone that as their guys check everything they receive by XRF they couldn't possibly be wrong but did agree to ask for it to be checked.
The next day I received an amended invoice that correctly valued the parcel.
Totally unacceptable for an alleged top class refiner.

Know what would make the SotD / Coronation Sovereigns really special for me?
If they used CAROLUS III for the inscription. 👀

I suppose the only way this is a true mule is if the Ag overstamp was done on a die intended for a gold coin, but I would think this is feasible as the gold die would be much smaller.

Not really a mule which is when an obverse and reverse that shouldn't be together are used. This is really an "overdate" or "die error"
It's the 2010 /2009 that is the mule.

Silver looks to be pretty solid at £30 per ounce on ebay at the moment, I may offload some on there if it keeps going up next time they have 80% off fees.
Alternatively if I can get £30 per ounce on the Silver Forum in the next few weeks I will sell on here.

I have all the Somali you are missing, they took some putting togather and some were pretty expensive. I might be willing to release them to a good home but only as a set I think, but I would have no idea how to value them.
