MancunianStacker reacted to dikefalos in Royal Mint British Monarchs Collection
Not every coin, i buy must give me profit. I just like to collect nice coins and sometimes i take a gamble. This series looks to me worth to collect. Restrikes of historical coins throughout hundreds of years from the same mint, that minted the originals. Henry was a great job by the mint, still not sure about James. But i'll try to collect the whole set in silver. So much better, than almost every other coin series out there.

Got a feeling there will be some gems in this series, I’m interested to see what the EdwardVII looks like in December. Wonder if they use the DS portrait. Would be nice to have a gold proof coin if they did.

Yes, i will send it back.

FFS , I hope you sent that back. The premiums they charge recently are steep, we should expect and receive A1. Perth Mint can do better with their bullion releases.

MancunianStacker reacted to LawrenceChard in Bungling Burglars Beaten Back at Blackpool Bullion Brokers
Breaking News...
BUNGLING BURGLARS
FOILED AT BULLION
DEALERS
Burglars were baffled when their tunnel came up 50 feet short at Chards in Harrowside Blackpool.
Staff at Chards, the UK’s Leading Coin & Bullion Dealer were amused to find the gaping hole on Wednesday morning in an obvious attempt to tunnel into their underground strongroom.
Turned out to be Electricity North West doing some routine maintenance!

Another QC moan.
Royalmint QC missed the big scratch on Queens face and a loose bit of silver slithering in the capsule. How did the scratch happened andcQC not to spot it. The Monarch obversecside is perfect.

MancunianStacker reacted to Sharron in Royal Mint British Monarchs Collection
Haha ..are the negative comments and don't care whether I get this 2nd coin just the normal ruse to put people off going for it so it diminishes the enthusiasm of buying it..seen this ploy soooo many times and the people who try and put people off going for it are inthe queue at 11am...so predictable guys..got to come up with a better strategy for putting off normal collectors from going for this coin so you have a better chance of acquiring this 2nd release 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

MancunianStacker reacted to SidS in Russia
A Brown's bottom would be one way. Lots of western nations dumping gold on the market and announcing it loudly before they do it. The price crashes down to the bargain basement prices of old and Putin's purchasing power would be massively diminished.
But which nations with all the massive inflation issues are going to want to do that? I bet the nations that sold their gold (like Canada) will regret it in the long term.

Once again the Royal Mint cherry picking the best 100 coins for grading, the remainder sent out in loose capsules, dust and minting marks to us poor collectors sometime this year if we are lucky.

Such a shame that these aren’t available in 1/4oz gold.

Just sold something else this evening so I’m keeping for now. Seems like they are up for sale on eBay for less than I paid a dealer so 🤷♂️

MancunianStacker got a reaction from Foster88 in It’s Gold Jim, but not as we know it
I’m ”hear” the Russians managed to do it but the cost involved in the alchemy cost more than the price of gold itself and it took a long time to get a decent amount made. But like any process if they can make it more efficient over the years maybe it will affect bullion prices.
Older coins and sovereigns could do well in the future as they I’ll be guaranteed as real gold and no chance of mock gold being used due to them being pre-fake good times.
Old slabbed (any lower grade) Sovereigns is something I’m buying more of.

MancunianStacker reacted to GoldStatue in Royal Mint Auction Consignment
I stumbled across the RM asking for consignments for their first public auction:-
The Royal Mint | Auction Consignment
I guess hot on the heels of them auctioning off their trial of the pyx coins.
It doesn't say the theme of the auction just that they're after RM coins, bit like asking how long a piece of string is really!
Interesting to see it is mostly a 0% sellers fee auction, bucking the current trend, maybe a loss leader to kick their first auction off with.

I'm working on a secret deal with the Ukrainians, to buy all of Russia's gold at half price when Kyiv wins.
