Please could someone explain to me the difference between a PF70 SOTD and the same sovereign in a PF70 Proof Cameo?
Why is one more desirable, therefore more costly, than the other when they are both graded the same?

Hello I'm a Stacker and Collector from the Channel Islands I adore Gold and silver and of course some Platinum, I have been stacking and collecting for nearly 4 years now.
Previously I was into buying & collecting gemstones from auctions which I did for about a year and a bit it, which I still have.
I have always been fascinated by how the earth has so many amazing minerals which we can mine ourselves, the geological history of the earth really facinates me.
All I watch on YouTube is anything related with Gold, Silver, Mining shows, Prospectors, Podcasts & Financial Videos 😂 
I am also a volunteer Acheologist 
I have very little confidence so I don't have a youtube or anything 😄 but I have an instergram page @Guernsey_Bullion_Stacker. If you would like to follow me that would be awesome.. my goal is to hopefully get to the stage where i can start making content on diffrent platforms.
I am also aiming in the future to open up my own Bullion & Collectables Buisness in the Channel Islands with my partner and not just buy and sell bullion but also help people get a better understanding about gold and silver.

To save on Gold purchases what I have found the "best way" find the cheapest price in Europe for example
1 oz Gold Britannia for 2.8% over spot from

Call round all the highly trusted UK bullion dealers (post Brexit not bought any PMs from abroad) check if they will price match or if you are able to buy at 3% above spot. Most will not wiggle for a single coin but if you are buying 5+ at a time or a full tube they will negotiate to win the business. May not have to buy 100 coins to get the best price maybe group order for full tube could do it. You still have logistics and trust element mentioned by BYB to contend with.

The biggest single delivery I managed for the forum was about £50k and I estimate about £300,000 in total across 3 years.
It was amazing, don't get me wrong.
But it was literally weeks of work.
I was really happy to do it, it was very helpful to build my channel up and great content and a way for not only others but for me to save money on orders. 
Forum members were very generous with tips and donations too - but it was very hard work!

Hi, I am a newbie to TSF and so apologise in advance for stepping on to ground that may already have been covered. 
My questions is to do with pre-ordering in numbers and cost. Is it done, or possible, to group together for an imminent release and negotiate a price for a big order (numbers being from TSF who had individually bought in)?
For example, the 2022 Gold Libertad.  Is there a known dealer out there who knows they will have a quota and we negotiate for a delivery of X now?
TIA for thoughts on this.

I Inherited a small coin collection just over a month ago, and in the process of researching the contents I unwittingly fell down the silver rabbit hole. What began as a passing interest quickly turned into a bit of an obsession.
I then proceeded down a path I suspect many have trodden before me. Bullion by Post, Atkinson's, eBay and now a hundred or so ounces later, Here. I seriously regret not finding here first.
Anyhow, looking forward to continuing to grow the stack and reading my way through the old posts. Seems like friendly place.

Good question!  We often get a member listing a large collection of gold (I think I have seen 30 Sovs for sale in one go and even a 1kg gold bar!)
I think what you are seeing is one of our members (Who is also a dealer) selling multiple individual coins.  I agree with other comments above about people liquidating in Jan to pay bills - silver has dropped more than gold in percentage terms so folk that need money they might sell their least depreciated asset.
The other thing at play here is the portability of gold and ease of sending.  1oz coin is worth roughly the same as a couple of kg of bulky silver.
I know its called the silver forum,  but this is a slightly misnomer as it covers precious metals 🙂

I did not know about this series until I noticed @CookieMonster offer a 2017 gold 1Oz recently.  Sadly I missed that, but would love to have bought it as I think in gold they look awesome.

I have been watching You Tube videos for a little while trying to educate myself on Gold and Silver and from there heard about this Forum.  I am (loosely) a stacker, but do have to fight the urge to buy sets.  For example, I am keen to build a run of RM Valiant 10oz coins and am always open to adding another 1kg PM Kook or Koala should it come up at an attractive price (yes, gutted I have just missed one!).  The more I see the price of 1oz silver coins increase, the easier I find buying bigger denominations (bars or coins) rather than broadening the coin collection.  Still cannot understand why a 1oz silver Eagle is so much more expensive than a 1oz silver Britannia?

This makes me really want to get to S.America, I've always been drawn to the continent but not gotten there yet.

Hi guys. I'm a newbie here. My stack consists mainly of 10oz Kookaburra and 10oz Valiant's with a few other pieces like a 1kg dragon and 10oz snake. I got rid of most of my 1oz coins. Hope you like 👍
