Been a while. Since I sold up my first stack to buy a house end of last year I'm now in a position to buy purely what i like. I am a full collector and it's been refreshing to not worry about cost average and can I resell it. this is my personal stack so doesent matter to me. Very different from my last post on this thread 🤣🤣

If i would be the mint, i just had to decide for one, of two ways. Increase the mintage, or get first in contact with your customers, that are buying for years. The continuity option for this set and the Tudors are great for buyers, also the new ones. Of course a higher mintage would lower the secondary market. As the mint, i wouldn't care about it a lot. It's enough if they hold their value, better something more. If it is 50, or 500% is almost meaningless for the mint. For one coin, like Una, is great, will increase the interest for RM coins. But if it goes like this with almost every coin, almost every week, couldn't be good and we could see soon a secondary market for RM proofs, like a couple of years ago. 
Somebody linked this video here in the forum, which should open up a lot of collectors eyes, even it is mainly about the videogame market. Same people are involved, like in coin grading and auctioning. Wasn't this Una hype starting with a auction result at Heritage? If you ain't want, or have the time, to watch the whole video, go around minute 38. The fraud with graded coins in the early days of grading. If you watch the whole Video, you see, which people are involved until today.
I don't say, everything is a fraud, but we should be aware of what and for what kind of money we are buying.

I agree it might make sense to you but the whole series has ever increasing mintages, and if the mintage is the same pretty sure everything is sold. So why wouldn't they up the mintage?
It might seem a bit "out there" but @MancunianStacker makes a good point. Everyone is happy all those who got the quartered arms get the set and the collectors who want the opportunity to own the portrait get what they want! Win for the royal mint and Win for the collectors, Win Win 🥳

What if the RM are minting more of the portraits than the Quartered Arms. 🤔 They can sell the full allocation to everyone who bought the Quarter plus double the mintage of the Portrait for those who just want the Portrait coin 😱

Nice post, I am both a collector and flipper and indeed anyone can be both, my collection is for coins and bars I like and sets I want to collect and whenever I get an opportunity to flip a premium coin I will without remorse as I have an attitude that if I can't flip it I will keep it as I only buy coins I like and am prepared to keep. Take the new coin out for example.
I dont like the design as i think it looks rough and damaged even though it isnt but that's my opinion so I didnt get one and dont worry about getting pne but any coins that I flip for a decent return doesnt get spent on beer, it gets spent on buying more PM's as it is a nice way of adding to the treasure without using finances that could be better used elsewhere and it keeps my missus sweet knowing I'm not blowing money that should be for food or paying bills lol
Flippers tend not to be poor as a poor man would not be able to fund a 1oz, 2oz, 5oz and 10oz in one go as some member stated flippers are poor...
Anyway.... a decent portion of my treasure chest is made up of flipped profits and i'm happy i have been able to do it this way with no risk to my portfolio..

The real problem they are backing everyone into a corner with the launches.  Monarch 24th Jan, SOTD 6th feb, 2nd gothic 7th feb?   And many of us have not got the 1st Gothic orders completed yet.   It's getting stilly and very few of us have bottomless pockets.   The 2nd Monarch is in March and they will be more coins between Feb-March.....and I'm half expecting a Spice Girls music legends at some point.   

Just received an email from the Royal Mint that my plain edge will be sent out within 48 hours

I didn’t even know they had been sent out yet! I guess bought in good faith and pending delivery. 

Hehe i hate getting the capsule scratched,or that felt they use in the boxes aways picks up every bit of dirt of your hands etc.

How did you manage to track down and buy a plain edge quarater arms with low premiums!! I thought their hasn't been a sale of thoes yet, even if they were sold they must have commanded unattainable prices, so I thought...

I'm considering calling them to see if they would accept some kind of "proof" of ownership of the 1st coin, but not holding out much hope
