…really everyone that signed up for first options on the entire series are the winners, everyone else gets .. 🤷‍♂️ … what’s left.
 
Fair play to those that get in early, I am just interested as to what percentage of great engravers coins the mint does not allow to be reserve in advance to give the rest of us a deal/chance to scrap over? 10%, 15%, 20% of total production stock? 
 
After all it you make you market too exclusive you may limit the those with new found wealth (eg. Crypto) from investing in the first place.

I have now purchased the 125 limited plain edge 2 oz gold quartered arms, secondary market
(don't ask the price! - other half might be watching - joke she knows, though not completely comfortable. for less than the highest, milled edge versions seen on ebay )
I now have the option to get the portrait..  Personally I'm thinking as a pair, I won't ever likely lose money (my main concern) and the Portrait may become very desirable by itself?
(Rare coin with two longest reigning  female monarch on - Elisabeth 2nd and Victoria)
 
I have no intention of selling (maybe care home fees in 30 years) - As long as it is better than cash. I'd be happy
 
It is however a very  significant lump of money for me. Thoughts? 
(though this forum may be a bit partisan to think gold coin collecting is a good idea!!!)

I've just had a look on eBay, and currently there are about 90 examples of the 2oz silver proof listed!  And this is before everyone has received their coins.  So, there is certainly no shortage - it just depends on how much you want to pay.

Well my coin never turned up when it was due yesterday 😞 Anxious times.
Tracking doesn’t make much sense either.  Despatched from Birmingham to my town at 4am yesterday morning, then received back at Birmingham at 5am (hr later)that same morning  🤔not moved since.
Anything with the word ‘Royal’ in at the moment is giving me anxiety 😟 
 

I think the market is only heading south from here, at least in the short term. Whether as its Christmas, or the mintage is about right, it's not clear.
There might be some bargains to be had for anyone who missed out in the coming weeks.

my advice would be to buy 3 x young head shield sovs. they hold more value (in bullion) than the more recent sovs and there is a chance you could find a rarer type from an unknowing seller. I buy mine from the coin cabinet or coins of the realm auctions. both are 0% commission to the buyer and I've found them reasonable in terms of cost with my last 3 being around £330 each (one of which has an overstrike). Sovs are very easy to move, but the bullion goes for what its worth plus a v small premium. Silver has higher premiums which drives a bit of competition amongst sellers.

Just seen a 2oz gold in real life and what a stunner, the detail is fantastic and it works really well as a coin despite my reservations that splitting it over two coins wasn’t something I liked 

I'm thinking that these are the same as tulip bulbs in the netherlands in the 1800's

I wasn't expecting the 2005 Sovereigns to be carded BUNCs, so that's a nice bonus!

Absolutely perfect on both sides. Even came in the usual sealed cardboard box with a 04/02/2019 dated barcode on it, so maybe they just found some down the back of the vault.
