I've often wondered about this.
The next year's coin are generally minted in the last months of the current year (as far as I know), but should the monarch die some way short of the turn of year, do they just melt them all down, or issue them posthumously?
The last time to my knowledge any coins were issued posthumously were the small Maundy silver coins of William III dated 1702 - bearing in mind that at the time New Year's Day was celebrated on 25th March, so when William died on 8th March it was still 1701.
When the calendar was changed in 1752 and New Year's Day moved to January 1st, his death date was updated to 1702 (same with Henry VIII - previously 1546, and Charles I - the original date 1648 is inscribed on his coffin).
Anyhow, I hope the Queen perks up and keeps going, I want her to beat her mother's age and out reign Louis XIV's 72 years.

The wife is the only other person authorised to access mine but she doesn’t know it exists. I have two very close friends that know it exists and will inform her if anything happens to me. 

The way I look at it is 10 quid for 100 sovereigns (30k) not only looks after them, makes it easy to store and I number each capsule so I know what I paid for each one. Good value in my mind.

Indeed. I did some research on the coins. They are made by a company in Croatia. They are ordered like this. So you can order coins with different motives. So this just landed in this shop by random. The story behind the coins is actually cool. 
 
Was it waaaay to expensive. Absolutely. 
Was it worth it: knowing what i know now. Then yes I'd say so.

Think I'd save my pennies for the Gothic release....and spend the money I was going to pay on the 2022 sov on a nice 1840's Vicki's sov...which I'd prefer over the new 2022..

I don’t have a doctors appointment to trade for it, but I believe it’s roughly equivalent in value to the fractional HGV drivers I have for sale. 2 Gallons will get you a rare 1967 vintage 1/100d (don’t confuse the d for old pence, that’s d for driver). What do you say??

Here is an out of the box thought!!!! Why don't we all wait and see on the day what the design will be? A couple of days after the release and the lucky ones who aquire this sovreign it will be history......and we will all  have forgotten about it and start focusing and commenting on the release of the Gothic Crown....Chill out people...after the Gothic there will be something else we will all go mad over..its the nature of coin collectors...it goes on and on and on.....RELAX.....This is going to be the future of new releases...we get them or we don't...know need for the stress unless you choose to do so..my humble opinion..Good luck to you all..😉😉😉🙂🙂🙂🙂
