I quite look forward to the weekly envelope and adding to the H&B stack, especially if I haven’t managed to add to the gold stack 😂

And £270 is extortionate for a sovereign which is only half gold!

Skyfiller reacted to Orpster in Thoughts on how to price your items for sale?
When I do sell, for bog standard common sovereigns I either go for a few £ under the cheapest best value sovereigns (delivered) at dealers or £20-£25 over spot, whichever is lowest. Half's the same except its £15-£20 over spot.
Special reverse sovereigns will be a bit more, and I will generally look at what they are going for but often dealers (IMO) overcharge so I don't tend to go much more than £40 over spot (£25 on halfs)
More complicated with sovereigns with a higher premium. For example I sell some rarer sovereigns and shield backs when I get duplicates but rarely put up a general sales post for them, there are a handful of guys on here and other forums I am in that I pm and I usually get a sale from that, occasionally if they are in excellent condition and I have a few to sell I send them to auction.
Silver 1oz generics (Brits/Krugs etc.) whatever the prevalent price on here is - so were I to sell now I would aim at £26-£27 per ounce. Anything else silver will take a bit more research but there is usually a 'going rate'

Skyfiller got a reaction from flyingveepixie in How many forum members as percentage have been scammed by new sellers
I’ve only been here a yearish and purchased a few sovs off of people here. The first thing I looked at was the sellers feedback. If the seller had a low feedback I looked at their history, messages and interactions with the site which usually tells you all you need to know. Having been here for a year there are loads of members I wouldn’t even bother looking at their feedback before buying from now as I’d naturally trust them. As others have said, it’s probably the niche coins you are selling causing the lack of replies and not much to do with you being new and having no feedback. Had they been a handful of sovereigns at a reasonable price, you’d probably have sold them in hours. And in answer to your question, never been scammed on here 😀

I've a few.
1) most important is to only buy from already proven "to me" trusted members/sellers. nothing personal, but sometimes I feel like I'm in the twilight zone on here.
2) continue the Tudor beast's in both 1/4 and 1oz
3) get more sovereigns to add variety.
4) in-between times, I will ignore all of the above and do the opposite 😆

Skyfiller reacted to goldsilverdash in Is coin collecting going to go the way as stamp collecting?
Already 20+ years ago, there was talk about e-mail making sending letters by post obsolete and killing postal services. Yet, people still send letters and cards by post (and online shopping means many package deliveries by post as well). So, the decline of postal communication may not be quite as rapid as one might think?
