Well, I tend to take the view that a chart is just a pictorial representation of past history.
Some swear by it, that history predicts the future and charts tell you what to expect in future. Others say that history is just that,... history, the past.
I have seen many bull and bear markets. History doesn't repeat itself in the same form, but in a variation of the past form, and sh*t happens and when that happens, it doesn't stop to check the past, it just happens. So, I do look at history and at charts to see what has happened and what may happen, but don't rely on it. Check the road before you cross and recognise that when that brown stuff come running down the hill, it may be time to run (or gather some buckets if you are in need of fertiliser 😄).
In the meantime, keep stacking, our currency keeps getting weaker.

shorter term swing trading stuff on the tech stocks they have been deadly accurate, but it takes a long time to get good at 'seeing' the trends.
But with a small manipulated market like gold (and especially silver) - as you say, anything can happen, so not so handy.
They should always be regarded as guess work, but using charts with decent probability on other factors (ie the war, CBDC's, Dollar strength) they certainly help.
I can see further downside, on Gold but its a strong position now (almost ignoring the pre cough-id highs).
My learning this year is the moment you think you know something, its emotion & you will loose money, as I have found out recently with the miners.

From memory going back years, about 3.5g per tonne is considered average. With modern mining they can mine down to 1g per ton economically

Geovest reacted to LawrenceChard in "In Case of Emergency": the Return of Sovereign Production after the Second World War
Sounds like you watched it in full.
There are many examples of various participants, MOD, RM, BofE, Treasury, etc, sounding quite clueless, indecisive and unwilling. Wasting time debating relatively small matters, deliberately being opaque, worrying about opinions which were probably not important, concealing production, falsifying information and news. Probably acting illegally. A typical lack of strategic, long term thinking from almost all parties involved.
The revelation that in 1948/9, Mint and other officials believed incorrectly that the traditional alloy for gold sovereigns was 22 parts gold and 2 parts copper, the realisation that their new trial production looked much redder than earlier sovereigns, then needing to experiment with additions of amounts of silver, to rediscover what had been forgotten.
What is worse is that this evidence is available, right under the noses of the Royal Mint, yet they are still continuing production of red gold sovereigns, apparently blissfully ignorant of historical facts, and still making and perpetuating the same mistakes, deaf and blind to any input from those who know and realise the error.

True, but the purchasing power of £ Sterling has declined by over 8% over the last year as reflected by the inflation rate and even more than that in relative value compared to the USD. The gold price in £ just reflects that relative position. The primary quote for gold is in USD and is still 12% below its high.

Bitcoin is going down and in my opinion will go lower than USD30k soon
Gold will head higher in GBP in the medium term
Anyone else remember Saylor telling people to sell everything and buy BTC at USD64k…..
Gold is king in this environment and Bitcoin correlates better with stock

It only takes a us jet in the wrong airspace on purpose or a false flag sacrifice with a NATO country and things could also spin on a dime. Remeber war if profitable for those at the top and peace is never profitable

US inflation up to 8.5%, our inflation not far behind and rising. This will continue to drive the Gold price higher. I would not be surprised to see it up to £1650 by June

Hi
Just enquiring if there is anyone out there, that is knowledgeable about 19th and 20th century pocket watches.!
A very close relative of mine has recently passed away, and I’ve inherited a huge quantity of them..just looking to find out more about them really…to show some respect for the lovely gent that has bequeathed them to me.
This is just a small fraction of them…
PM preferred on this one.

In December I ordered the continuation coin, so both. An invoice for the portrait was placed on my account yesterday and the money taken today. So it is ready for dispatch. Maybe no launch as its all sold out anyway.

At a slight tangent, MM Mint Marque members used to be called the Royal Mint FDC Club.
I had my own theory about what FDC stood for in this case, and it was not Fleur de Coin.
Guesses on a postcard...
