For your next eighteen sovereign collection how about a set of struck on the day sovereigns from between the years 2012 to 2021 there are 18 to collect 🧐

Eighteen reasons to get excited about Sovereigns.
I received a lovely 1863 Victoria Sovereign today and this one concluded my 'Change of Portrait' Type Set from 1817 to present day 😅  The type set includes all the Portrait changes for each Monarch.  I have attempted to acquire the inaugural year date for each Portrait change.
All the 19th Century examples are Sovereigns and where practicable, all of the 20th & 21st Century Sovereigns are Proof examples.
Over time I will likely try and seek out a nicer example of the 1825 George IV; replace the 1836 William IV with the inaugural year of 1831; attempt to do the same by replacing the 1863 Victoria with a nice 1838 example and for Elizabeth II, replace the 1987 Maklouf Portrait with the inaugural 1985 year date.
In the meantime, for those who appreciate them, enjoy the Sovereigns 😀

Definitely not enough unless it's purely for the pleasure of ownership, as opposed to being an investment.
I have less than 100 oz of physical but about 1000 oz in ETF holdings and that's definitely not enough if it was my only investment.  Fortunately, my investments are more diversified, not only into Gold and Platinum but also into global equities, property and art.

The filters should help so the user can control what he sees, but they probably need to be "sticky". We are or will be working on that, thanks!

    A very honest comment.
Many businesses don’t spot that they are not what they think they are / were and struggle or fold as a result.
It surprises me how many companies miss this.

We have had to metamorphose from a numismatic and bullion dealer into a tech / internet business, and it has been a long, expensive process, still ongoing...
I am tagging @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer in to this, and expect some of the team will look at and fix your point about the filters.
I am not convinced our search is as good as it should be, although better than it used to be.
It may be one of the next big stages in the project.

Lots of coins and bullion dealers sell bulllion by post, but I guess you mean Bullion by Post a.k.a. BullionByPost?
Another TSF membere has already suggested checking their other website first, and you could also try some of the price comparison sites and apps which exist, including the one on TSF.
It is just me who thinks that having two company names and websites, selling the same things at different prices, is just a trifle questionable?
I don't know if anybody knows why, but Is uspect that it is to catch out rookies who only see the first two or three results on Google, then buy from one of those, ignoring all subsequent results.
For once, @ChardsCoinandBullionDealer probably can't help you, as we took the decision that the premium on these quarter ounce gold QB coins was too high (on new coins), to be promoted as a sensible gold investment coins, and was more likely to sell in smaller volumes at higher premiums to collectors than to serious investors. There were other factors involved in the decision. I am aware that there is an argument for (the Mint) offering greater choice, even though this comes at a higher premium.
I also believe that using affiliate programmes is ethically questionable.
Anyone want to know what I think about the Royal Mint's ethics?

"Good investment in the long run..." Better than most people could have expected, in terms of premium retention.
There is always the aspect of aesthetic enjoyment, as opposed to purely financial return. Of course, you can also get this from silver versions instead of gold.

That is interesting. On Vice.com, and elsewhere the founder of BbP is quoted as saying:
"Halliday-Stein is a British billionaire and entrepreneur who fell into the gold trading business back in 2008 when he was looking to buy a "modest amount" of the shiny stuff himself. It was at the height of the financial crisis, and Halliday-Stein—who was keeping an eye on emerging business models—was on the lookout for a new opportunity. While surfing the net for gold and silver, he soon became disillusioned by the subpar websites and customer services he encountered."
    ... and similar.
We don't seem to have come a long way!

Can I question this? Not to be awkward or contradictory but simply because I think I might misunderstand something.
I have watched Mike Maloney's - History of Money, and I found the series interesting.
He also stated, and showed graphs to prove that when currencies are printed and expanded in number of units, that gold at some point will do an adjustment. The graphs showed this clearly, both in the 1920s with Weimar Germany, but also in 1934 and 1980 where each time the price of gold denominated in fiat shot up and exceeded the price in that currency. I would argue that 1934 is a moot point though as gold prices were officially set at that point and not free markets...
But then came my confusion, in most of those instances the price of gold then fell below the new high, no comment about this from Mike.
Take 1980 for example, the price of gold not only adjusted to meet the currency expansion, but also overshot by some margin to $800 an oz, or thereabouts, but then it fell down to about $250-$280 an oz and stayed there for most of the 80s and dropped further in the 90s (yes I realise there was market manipulation occuring, Brown's Bottom etc.) But surely the price should have stayed much closer to the new created currency, approx $600 or so? Or fluctuated around there.
    Am I missing something?

I completely agree - and in my view is a very sane perspective.
With the sale of 'Collectors universe' (Parent company of PCGS) I think that grading will be pushed harder which will not help the problem.....the investors will want to drive growth of the business, which will mean more grading and people chasing grades and not looking at the coins.

    Close, but...
The paragraph "Specific Gravity Table" contains the table, but the table header says "Metal    Density", and as I had just explained, "density" should have units, which are not present in the table, so we should have either included the units gm/cc in the table, or better, changed the table headed to say "Metal    Specific Gravity".
I can't remember now why I included the mention of "Nottingham University Students", but I think we had probably received an e-mail from one of them asking us the difference, instead of referring to a reference book. In fact, I think we then answered his/her e-mail by pointing them at the page, and giving them a free mention.
In case anyone is interested, the Chards page was ported over from the original, which is still available here: https://24carat.co.uk/frame.php?url=densityofgoldandothermetals.html, and created about 1998/9.

The thing is... borders aren't impenetrable and for the right amount of money people smuggling is big business. Its happening all over the world more so now than ever. Even Canada hasn't been immune once those routes were recognised for exploitation - Roxham Road from New York state into Quebec is stated to have had 50000 illegal entries between 2017 - 2019. We see it here in the UK in the form of people getting on boats, rafts, etc to cross the English Channel. You really don't need to look far these days to see stories of this sort of thing unfolding.
It isn't without its risks and wouldn't be my first choice but if things got bad enough I'd be happy to be holding something valuable that could be used to find me a route out of the country.

IS it 'Density should correctly be expressed in units of "unit mass per unit volume"', when it should be 'Density should correctly be expressed in units of "mass per unit volume" ?  i.e. you have one to many 'units' in there? 🤓

I don't think it is a good idea. A sovereign should be always 22ct, a credible gold grade for everyone.
Let's imagine that Royal Mint will decide to change the composition of sovereign from 2022 to 24k and because the appetite for sovereigns will decrease, will decide to change again from 2032 in 14k and from 2042 in 9k to make it more affordable for the poor people.  What will be the result? Everybody will search on a trade if is Pre22, Pre32, Pre42 or Post42.
Have you ever checked a bucket of old british currency full of 3pence and 6pence if are Pre20,  Pre47 or Post48?
Let's all accept the sovereign as 22ct, doesn't matter the colour. Can be for me any kind of alloys, with silver, copper, antimony, zinc, or led, any non-radioactive metal, any colour from rainbow 🌈, but should have 91.67% Au.
I know, it is frustrating for a lot of collectors, but there are lots of other 9999 gold coins to stack.
Sorry if I've offended someone, it is only my personal opinion.
    Stefan.
