@lextex Yes, you're correct, silver does have a greater industrial use compared to gold. However, at least in the UK, silver has unreasonable premiums and VAT over spot price, i.e. market price, which makes it expensive to buy compared to gold spot price.  https://www.gold.co.uk/silver-price/10year/ounces/USD/
Re interest rates, I guess it's treasury bill rates in the US. This may answer the question. https://www.thebalance.com/current-federal-reserve-interest-rates-4770718

    Hi,
It is not possible to tell whether we are at the start or end of a bull run in gold, or any other type of asset.  The possibility of inflation is well known and the efficient market hypothesis ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Efficient-market_hypothesis ) says this will already be reflected in the price.  (i.e lots have people have already bought gold in anticipation, driving the price up, to relect the fears about inflation.)
Sorry if this doesn't help much, but my startegy is to not worry to much about the current price, but just make slow and steady investments over a long period of time so prices average out.  If I don't have enough to invest in what I want in any given month, I just save until I do.
Chards is a British site, but has a lot of information that I found really useful about buying gold at low premiums.
Buying 2.5 gram bars will have a larger premium than say a 1 troy once bar.
Since you are in New York, perhaps buying American gold Eagles would be better for you?  Check the premium you would pay on them vs. 2.5 g PAMPs.
    Good luck in purchases.

@Rll1288 A very wise decision. The last year has changed habits for many of us.
I'm wondering if the current stock market bull run is partly "sponsored" by people who are spending less and therefore investing in stocks.

Yeah exactly. Timing the cycle also.
Buy undervalued assets when they go cheap.
Silver & silver miners last year at £11-14 on ounce or oil for example,
then maybe other stocks when it hots a bear market
and property when that bubble crashes.
Or boats, cars & other luxury items from desperate people
And Gold when everything is tickerty boo & out of favour.

Not panicking and seeing a long term outlook is what I learnt.
Set a plan of 10-20 years and accumulate gradually.
Maybe buy a lot to start with - I bought a few queens beast sets at £14 and ounce.
Then little and often. I try to buy one SOV a month, when the prices are a bit lower.
Bought a lot recently for example.

Switching back to silver now as a few quid on spot will not mean anything if it doubles.
I would still like to see £14 silver at some point this year.

You can trust he will sell his granny to make an extra few quid. Grifter through and through.
Greedy, narcissist & he is exactly what he pretends to hate - Not sure he realises that though??
You would think someone that has so much property & assets would just chill out and enjoy the beauty of life?
I guess if you are from a country that has no social services dodgy currency & corruption you kind of have to be like that.
But in Hawaii Robert? no. Live in one of your many luxury beach condos and enjoy the sun and bikini clad ladies.

I find that especially with Asian & Indian men (but throughout the world) that they are conditioned to just keep going.
I remember the book 'I will teach you to be rich' The guys indian dad went to a car dealer 20 times to beat them down on price.
He was then haggling over the flipping feet guards for a few quid. Seriously WTF.
Just buy the car and enjoy some nice time with your son, rather than turning him into a penny pinching ****-head.
Rubbish book that was - bad advice.
A gun smith or butcher would be more handy, unless you need to service your tank.

I’ve been watching Robert Kyosaki for some time. Initially I liked him too.  But on closer examination he appears to be non trustworthy. I signed up to his free “live” webinars twice. Both were exactly the same and clearly not live. They were simply marketing tools to sell you his overpriced strategies on how to get rich. He’s a successful salesman.

We've all been undercharging for our sovs, obviously. If only we could sell gold coins @ £3,825 per oz. But buy at £1,346 per oz.

Personally, I don't recommend this deal. Notice the wording that this is a "rare" chance to own a 2013 sovereign.

Another possiblity is the implementation of Basel III.  This is aimed at regulating the banks and and will have implications for the LBMA.  It is due to come into force at the end of June in Europe and on  1/1/22 in the UK.  According to this video it should tighten up on banks' ability to deal in unallocated gold.  It suggests that banks may be forced out of their current short positions in the LBMA, and therefore, getting back to your question, banks may be starting to buy gold to begin covering their short positions... maybe!

I always refer people this video when I get asked if products like these are good purchases....
This video specifically references The London Mint Office which operates a basically identical business model.

I definitely feel it's the inflation fear and for me that has certainly been the driving force over my accumulation of gold

Looks like a few things are going right for gold. Gold was going sideways at $1700, then there was a big jump to $1800 (about 2 weeks back) and today we are almost at $1900. But, what is driving the price up? I note 2 things that need to be mentioned

    a) Bitcoin falling and people exiting the crypto market
    b) Inflation fears

Anything else that I am missing?

Fair enough. You love it because you get a nice cheap but of gold at spot price and can put up with a bit of shill from their salesmen. But remember, we are not their target audience. Those phone calls and marketing leaflets are aimed at those who know absolutely nothing about gold collecting whatsoever. They are the more elderly with cash to spare. They offer their proof coins at exorbitant prices on the basis of them being a "great investment and something you can pass on to the Grandchildren" (The exact words that were spoken to me by one of their salesmen.
My mothed's parther, who is 88, gets almost weekly flyers off them, offering great deals on coins, issued against remote islands like Tristan da Cunha, for many times the intrinsic value and with hardly any resale value, like £300 silver proof piedfort coins I bought on ebay second hand for £100. Great investment indeed. Fortunately, he had the common sense to say no.
So yes, it might be good for us, but I bet that for every sovereign sold to us, another is being soldnto somebody totally unaware that they are about to become a target for what is effectively a marketing scam.

You could try asking Jubilee Mint how and where they obtained your telephone number and / or other details. In writing would be better than by telephone.
I believe that Harrington & Byrne is owned and run by ex Westminster employees, similarly Jubilee Mint, CPM (Coin Portfolio Management). Most of these are clustered around Bournemouth or Poole in Dorset, although H&B show a Mayfair London address.
The misleadingly named London Mint Office are not a mint, but a subsidiary of Samlerhuset Group, the biggest coin marketing company in Europe.
Don't confuse London Mint Office with the London Mint or the Royal Mint.
Harrington & Byrne recently did a leaflet drop offering. The leaflet gives the impression that it is an official document of some kind, headed "National Household Notification". It takes quite some time to discover that the issuing authority is Alderney in the Channel Islands. Most casual readers will quite reasonably assume that it is an official United Kingdom coin issue. Many TSF members will probably know that I dislike misleading advertising.
