Unspectacular collector-wise, but from an investment viewpoint the smartest thing I can think of right now (with the WEF already talking about the next upcoming pandemic, which is supposed to be a cyber attack and will pale the last plandemic) : a CGT free tube of 25 Britannias. Thanks again to @arshimo2012

Your CGT allowance (tax free) is £12,300/year, so, once again, at this time you have a loss and thereby no problem; unless you need the money realised now.
You have 5 pages of mixed advice, much of it further compounding a potential loss and lining dealers pockets on a product where in most countries currently and going forward, demand outstrips supply.
Why not stop worrying about a wealth preservation tool (you have admittedly somewhat overplayed) and just keep the bars and sell if/when you actually need the money, or when spot shows a break even or better; CGT is irrelevant to you at your investment/price point/s.
Since both Russia and China are building gold reserves, the only nations with central bankers who know what they're doing and not madly printing paper money; gold/silver supply is slowly tightening, so follow their lead and sit tight.

Apart from the fact you paid too higher premium, and too bigger % of your savings are in one commodity, what else is worrying you, if anything?
Gold will fall and climb in it's own time, but currently the trend seems up, so unless you have a need for money, why exasperate your position further with unnecessary losses?
Given the high probability any profit will be below your allowance, the importance of CGT maybe therefore being overplayed also.
Instead of taking losses now, why not just keep a close eye on spot and sit it out, there's a surprising number of people both with bars of your size and bigger, and many more willing to buy privately once verified.

Owning 1 1/2Kg of gold is a nice problem to have. 😁

I agree.
Perhaps convert 2 bars into 32 x 1 oz coins. That's your permastack for the grandkids, put into storage.
The other bar convert into sovereigns. It should buy you 60+ if my brain is in gear? These you can keep at home, just three tubes to be hidden around the house somewhere.
Ultimate flexibility. if you need some extra cash, perhaps fancy a boat or a foreign holiday or your kids get in strife you can release the funds very quickly (advertise them on here at spot and they'll sell within the hour, money in your account immediately). There will be greater interest in older sovereigns than modern shiny ones, however.
The conversion percentages are an example and up to your own discretion of course. It's always fun to make plans with other people's money
Good luck whatever you decide 👍

RustyShackleford reacted to GoldDiggerDave in Can you profit BIG with silver without apocalyptic hyperinflation, US dollar crash and all those things
Take everything you see on YT with a huge pinch of salt. Many people now can feel economic change in the winds and having a diverse portfolio is key. If you buy silver you need spot to double just to return a small profit. Just go into stacking with your eyes wide open and you are not just buying magic beans because the nice man on YT told you to buy them.
Will your stack save you in economic meltdown or from hyperinflation? Probably not, in the worst case economic scenario many will lose their jobs, so ask yourself do your plans allow for a sustained period of unemployment? Can your stack be liquidated into profit or return enough income to keep the wolfs away from the door for 6-12 months? Most working families need 2.5-3k per month coming in just to get by.
The best weapon against any serious economic change is to be debt free and solvent, so as part of your game plan driving down debt can be a sensible option, though boring as hell and you don't have anything shiny to hold.
I see this totally bizarre attitude from some stackers almost wishing for the end of the economic system to happen and they think they will become rich over night, it's painfully shortsighted. Like going to the bookies and putting a million quid bet on for the world to end the day after......either way you can't collect.
Collecting silver is a great hobby, gold can preserve your wealth providing you can afford to hold it for the long term.
Cheers
Dave

This is not fair. We can get shotguns like that, but they are shot guns.
I have applied to join a range which opens up the doors to rifles, but single shot outside os .22.
I think a decent 22 with a silencer would be more fun actually & cheaper to shoot.
This is my 'weapon'
Has sat in the safe all year! Its a fabulous gun for £500!

Update: Definitely don't bring God into it. Haven't you heard of "In GOLD We Trust"?
