Just stick it in some bicarbonate and aluminium foil with some salt will be shiny before you can say ‘return to sender’.

This is good advice. As usual.

As I replied to another post:
"I think you would find that HMRC will the higher or highest of different methods of valuation. If you wanted to use a lower valuation, then you would need to be prepared for an argument with them.
You might win, but probably not."
also:
It might help if you had good evidence that you had only paid £2 each for them, which is highly unlikely, but even then I suspect HMRC would use "market value".
I would not try it, and I rather enjoy being dialectic.
B.T.W.: I support Brett's arguments and actions about the right to use legal tender coins in payment of a debt.
There are also wider implications which I have yet to write about.

Buy a safe. Keep at home. Trust no one. Invest in a defensive dog and a clay pigeon shooting shotgun. That’s my strategy. Not that I own any pm personally, I used to, until I lost it on a mad, drunken boating accident. Now I own not a thing.

It’s funny how you-Paul have flagged items. Yet the description was clearly -face to face pick up! Because of people like you jealous once that can not handle the fact I have these items. You go off messing about on forums! I only started to sell again through eBay as it’s safe and now patents are managed by eBay them self’s. In addition 2 buyers were very happy. If I would have been a dodgy seller I would have been removed by eBay and not have have any high selling limits! Get your facts straight before you taint peoples reputation!

It depends how unlucky you are I guess;
example 1
crack head John Doe looking for a quick buck. Not a bad type of robber as he would attempt to get the quick items
example 2
opportunist James Dee, again not a bad option as he would unlikely go looking
example 3
systematic robber billy joe, this fella likely has tools. Has canvased the area and comes with a plan. Whether this dk head can get in your safe depends on your safe.
example 4
The pro Brad pit. This guy knows you have a safe from tracing you on Facebook. He is prepped and knows your schedule. With this fella you’re fcuked basically.

Indeed, silver will remain an industrial and lesser investment tool. Sadly I suspect it’s price will remain around 20-40 mark forever.
* I have just realised this is the wrong part of the forum for this discussion apologies.

Honestly the chances of something terrible going down with a big bank or a reputed private company is extremely low.
A safe deposit box gives you peace of mind when you’re away from home. You don’t need to be away on vacation for your home to be burgled. You could be out for a few hours buying groceries and return home to a heartbreak.
As smart as you are, thieves are smarter than you. A small metal detector and a power saw or drill are all that are needed. Your neighbours will think there’s some work going on at your place, if they ever bother to notice.
I’d opt for a safe deposit box any day.
