First ever auction win, paid slightly more then I maybe should have but at £380 delivered still not bad. Mainly purchased due it being the 2016 gold standard coin first version to come out.
I have the 18,19,20 gold standard coin versions.

RAM 2009 Gilded Silver "Ken Done" Kangaroo
This was the final gilded Skippy released by the Royal Australian Mint and had a mintage of just 5,997.
The gold finishing of this coin was, for the first time, in a "two-tone" silhouette, with both proof and frosted gold highlights. The effect is one of outstanding quality and makes this my favourite "Gildy" by some distance - and also my #1 of the three silver 2009 Ken "WTF is He" Done roos.
Thanks once more to my favourite Finn@jultorskfor the help in my sourcing of this "ripper".
This is my 61st 1oz silver Skippy and leaves me awaiting just the 3-coin pad-printed "Artists" set, currently en route from Russia.

VelociteeSteel reacted to sovereignsteve in The future of silver, VAT and import charges into the UK now a Deal has been done!?
Yes, I'm curious why EU sellers aren't doing this already. It's been standard practice for UK sellers to sell goods VAT-free for overseas shipment, as long as we've been in the EU. So it must be possible.

VelociteeSteel reacted to Arganto in Postage insurance
As I mentioned above, the auction house will either have insurance due to a contract with a courier company or they will have an insurance policy themselves that covers goods in transit of this type. There are a few reasons there is a lack of services out there for the individual, the market in this regard certainly isn't set up to cater for occasional precious metal sellers. Why not try making some phone calls to courier companies/insurance handlers and see if a short term arrangement or single service can be negotiated? Not heard of anyone doing this but you won't know until you try.
It would make for an interesting post on TSF as well, this topic comes up a fair bit.
If it wasn't for the enforced imprisonment of the general populace that's in place right now I'd say driving it yourself in a nondescript, reliable car at the right time of day or night would be eminently viable and likely much cheaper. Also ROAD TRIP, but then I am quite childish sometimes.
Good luck either way 👍🏻

VelociteeSteel got a reaction from magpie79 in The Black Flag Series coins
I've bought from Europe before without any problems through transferwise but never silver from the US. Apmex want paying in crypto to get a shipment minimum of $250, otherwise it's a whooping $1500 on transfer. I might be able to arrange if and when i can get my head around crypto but rather hoping somebody else who is comfortable using it would step up and sort it. I think you might be able to tell i'm an older sort of guy with worn out pockets from carrying around all my change....

Would anybody else be interested in a potential group buy if the price is right, i don't want to have to buy $250 + postage for only really wanting 1 coin. ps @Panda6Pack love the first 2 coins of this series i won in your auction way back when!

Some modest buys. At the tail end of a 5 week month that included xmas. Still got to scratch the itch though...
Finally got round to picking up a 2019 oriental. They sit well in a repurposed case.
And these spotless 2012 dragons. The half and the full ounce. At £36 the pair from a local guy I couldn't not buy them.
Itch scratched. Only days until payday again...

VelociteeSteel got a reaction from AurumArgenti in The future of silver, VAT and import charges into the UK now a Deal has been done!?
Poorly written news story to grab headlines, (oh it's the BBC, explains it!) which deliberately jumbled up EU and Worldwide regulations and only explained properly in the second part of the report what the real cause was. So she ordered "bargain" VAT free clothes from the EU and was upset she had to pay VAT to import, the only real additional cost is admin fee for paperwork and a few percentage points either way for VAT.
The problem here isn't "Free trade" it's "frictionless trade" plus carriers profiteering from the admin charge, this is to be expected as it's early days and would still have happened even if you had 1 year to prepare.
