How do you know they are all genuine bidders and not part of a circle to catch unsuspecting gullible players ?
What gold are we talking about ? If they are .999 fine gold, then this is investment gold and should not subject to import tax.
If I were you, I would walk away and buy from either reputable local bullion dealers.

I heard the sound of clinking gold coming from my closet. I slowly opened the door and was greeted by a skeletal figure clutching a bag full of gold coins.....
For a moment, it frightened the life out of me.
Then it dawned on me that I had placed a mirror behind the closet door !
Fear subsided. It was my reflection ! 🙄

The Royal Mint has discontinued with the billion Lunar series probably due to low demand.
The year of the Rat was the last one in bullion. So if you want one, it'll have to be a proof coin.

Buy more now and eat later ! 😂

Hello! Welcome to the forum.
You are in the right place to discuss anything on precious metals.

I don't know what all the fuss is about.
All those american coins have a 180 degrees error in rotation and no one gets over excited about them.🙄

I have been collecting for a few years before joining TSF. The bullion dealers I bought from were those based in London, Birmingham and outside of UK. Chards of Blackpool were not on my radar, even though they have an online presence through google search results.
My preference before TSF were 1oz coins and I have not paid much attention to sovereigns before. But when members starts talking about them and seeing how liquid they are on the forum, it did influenced me to buy some.
After a few searches, I decided to test the waters and placed an order for 15 sovereigns with Chards, a lesser known dealer to me at the time. I suspect by having a presence on TSF and being involved with discussions must have gained exposure and sales for Chards. 😎

If you bought at this price it would indicate you bought a fair few years ago has the growth been what you had hoped ? I suppose at 50 per cent it is if you bought at that
Can't see many buying monster boxes though only a select few
I'm talking more about people who buy a Simpsons donut 1oz coin for 50 quid that kind of thing
No one is perfect. No even Barbie ! 😉

I picked up 2 recently.
The first was an absolute bargain at only £2 posted (and it's real!)
You are showing off your bargain hunting skills.
This implies that I overpaid by £7.50 for my Thaler ! 🤔

You got "free postage"?
You do realise they are only £1.13 on AliExpress, but you do get ripped off on the postage, at £1.74, making a total of £2.87!
You can get a choice of 3 different finishes, roughly minty, toned, or nearly black.
You should of course add at leat 10% for the fact they Chinese seller is likely to use
HerpesHermes Evri to steal, lose, damage, or mis-deliver it in the UK.There is always AliExpress's 90 day money back guarantee although it is close to worthless.
😎
Those AliExpress prices in the UK are a real rip-off. I can get them on Taobao (Chinese version of AliExpress) for ¥5.8 or about 70p.
These are genuine fakes. How many would you like ? 😎

The members above have very much answered your question.

These coins aren't rare.
There are plenty for sale on ebay, currently selling for around £22-25.
A while back, I managed to buy one on ebay for £9.50 posted 😎

Anyone glad they invested in silver ?
It depends on your entry point.
If you had bought monster boxes costing £11-£12 per ounce then why wouldn't you be glad ?
Just saying !

The key to a good listing is multiple photos and a piece of paper with your username and date. That could unlock a few extra £ of profit.
Yes, quite. The Key to success.
But let's not derail this thread any more.😁

It makes sense now.
Premium products at premium prices don't fair well on TSF.
