Awesome collection, top notch 😍

You've got everything there is to want already except perhaps a set of QBs? which you probably have got.

Thanks. I actually had this set but sold it last year as I felt a little over weight in bullion 😊

A run for the first series of Queens Beasts 1oz gold proofs in PF70 plastic coffins would be a nice/sensible next stage IMO if you can pick each up at sensible money as and when they show up

Good shout. Especially if I can pick them up at decent prices

@Heirlooms

this is a fantastic collection. And thank you for the name check.

I have some of these coins & in coins I have gone for the quality aspect definitely. Personally I really like Proof coins. The finish is so much nicer, & like you, I have tried to stick with 70 grades.

i have a side collection of the rarer 50p gold proofs, but the 50p coins even the proofs are noticeably unloved and hardly get discussed.

the £200 Queens Beast Completer, is a fantastic coin. My wife, who knows nothing about coins & probably wishes I had never found coins, really likes the design. She much prefers it over the 2012 Sov which I love.

this collection , put together in only 3 years if really fantastic & I hope it can stay complete for a long time. I am sure you are thinking where next, & we will be keen to see where your curiosity & £ takes you.

well done & thank you for taking the time to share Clive

Thanks. 50p proofs are an interesting one. There are a few I've had my eye on in the past that I might be able to snag at decent prices but I'll take my time in deciding. Love the 2012 as well, another great original design. It's a shame the RM's track record of recent releases hasn't been great. Lets hope this changes

An amazing collection @Heirloomsand thank you for sharing this with the community. 😍 Beautifully presented to us as well. Definitely a motivational post for many of us including myself 🤣

Did you acquire the majority of your collection via The Silver Forum?

If you had to be pick just one - which one would be your favourite piece in your collection?

What was the hardest coin to source?

Just interesting to get your take on this all. The journey is the fun part and it's also an adventure at the same time. Best thing is that it never gets old just staring at your stack in joy and happiness. 😃

Hi @Paul & @Heirlooms

i have a Kew, & most of my low mintage , low 70 grade 50p proofs have been acquired via TSF but over a longer period of time. Some of the members do put some nice coins up.
Kew & the WWF were my first but the lowest ones are those that only come in Annual Sets , so that is Britten 2013 & Team GB 2020. The Olympics were supposed to be 2020 but when it moved to 2021 in Tokyo, due to Covid, the stand alone proof had its date changed to 2021. In both cases there are only 70 issued, & only a couple at 70.

intersting that @Heirlooms has such a great & focussed collection but no 50p proofs. That is the norm it seems.

again , thanks for sharing your milestone & collection. Reminds me of why I collect

Well done @Heirlooms.  As others have said, you have a fantastic collection of very enviable coins.  I hope you never tire of owning them and that they bring you much pleasure and joy.

My personal favourites of your collection are the 2oz Completer, the 2oz Coronation Matte Proof and the 1989 5 Sovereign Proof.  I'd struggle to part with those if I owned them!

Thanks. The pleasure is all mine! It was a combination of The Silver Forum, dealers such as Chards, Atkinsons etc, Facebook groups and grading raw coins I bought from various people and the RM. The 2oz Completer is most definitely the jewel in the crown and favourite design. The 2014 Britannia and 2012 Sovereign set are also personal favourites. The 2016 Sovereign set is the one that I think was slept on and has really increased in value due to the low mintage and the fact that the portrait was only available for 1 year. A lot of 5 coin sov sets are broken up so I was keen to collect full sets and keep them together. Even the 4 Philip Nathan special designs. While they are not an official set I thought it would be nice to collate them together.

The 2005 Britannia was the hardest to source. Fun fact, there were no gold bullion Britannia's released in 2005, the only option was proofs and the 1oz was only available in the 4 coin set so its a very hard coin to find. On top of that, it doesn't grade very well so it's also difficult to get a PF70 so it took me a while to find.

I think 50p proofs just haven't been my focus as yet. Britannia's, Sovereigns and the QB series occupied most of my time and energy over the past. few years. I need to take the time to go down the 50p rabbit hole to know which ones to go for and what a fair price would be as thats also a big factor

Wow. The weight here is frankly irrelevant. I don’t collect proofs - mainly because I would need perfection and you sir have achieved it.

Be interesting to know how you source and achieve such high grades.

Bravo 👏

Thanks. I’m with you. Once you go down the rabbit hole the OCD kicked in so I had to achieve “perfection”. Feel pretty content with the collection as is. 50p’s might be next but I’m not sure. I’d love to add a Victoria young head proof in a good grade. That’s the dream.

I bought a few already graded via The Silver Forum, Facebook groups and auctions. I then started buying raw and tried grading. Been extremely lucky and got all PF70s apart from 2 occasions to which I moved on.

You've just made me add up my collection and it came to 1.2KG!  Pretty much al bullion though, ungraded.  Mainly QBs (1 oz, and 1/4z)

Nice haul. It adds up quickly.

Wow that is very lucky. Who do you grade with/through?

i have 1 proof a 1oz QB completer which i would like graded but anything less than PF70 would be too much to take for me 😂

also thought about grading my bullion QB set but again would need them all the be perfection which im sure they’re not - plus not sure if grading bullion is even worth it.

Outstanding collection. I am new too all this and I am hoping too buy my first gold coin and silver this week.

I was in the same place in late 2000s starting out stacking and I'm still stacking now today, a lovely six figure war chest of shiny similar to @Heirlooms

Very pleased with my results for a man who could hardly ever save a penny. Gold is great

@CoinsOfTheRealmAuctions graded quite aa bit for me however I'm not sure if they still offer this service. I've self graded the past 12 months but as @Paul mentioned @GoldDiggerDave can help you out with this. I'd say it'd be worth grading your completer, the bullion QB, not so much
