The legendary Aladeen

The Aladeen has recently found a new home, after its previous owner, on his second holding of said coin finally managed to shift it.

This lucky person rightfully changed their profile picture to the Aladeen. But, they used the obverse and not the reverse side, tut tut.

The Aladeen is a glorious coin, which has not been truly appreciated, so I will give you all a history lesson.

In 1979, the Iranian people said "enough" out with the Pastramis. Lead by papa Khomeini, a new coin was born, the Aladeen.

It's a lustrous coin that I recommend every user hold in their hands at least once. So far, since jailbreaking it from Atkinsons, this coin has passed hands 6 times I believe. It is a majestic coin, so much so, that I was going to buy it back for a third time.

I have lost about £30 on beautiful coin, but I don't care. The Aladeen is a joy, even the resident hoover bought it twice.

When I have enough spare money and don't impulse buy anything else, I am ringing Chards, and I will acquire the Khomeini head Aladeen, as an obverse of a mullah is clearly much better than ornate calligraphy.

The current Aladeen owner will likely sell it soon, as is the way, I implore you...experience this coin in hand.

Didn't feel I could use the reverse until it was actually in hand. As we speak it is winging its way through the land once again to it's new destination. To be admired for a short time before reluctantly I will have to let some one else discover it's beauty in the flesh so to speak for the first time or second. As I believe, once you've had an Aladeen, nay, the Aladeen, you can never truly go back.

It sounds a bit like herpes...once you've had it, you can never really get rid of it.

Now for a slightly more accurate history:

In 2013 the Royal mail was privatised and for the first time, profits actually mattered. From this the Aladeen was created, in the following 10 years it has changed hands once a week, generating a total of £3614 in postage costs, (to date), and thus becoming one of the most profitable coins ever.

Royal mail shareholders proceeded to try and procure more Aladeens directly for the UK market, following the successful profit. However, many on the board were hit with hefty fines for breaching Iranian sanctions.

What are we looking for auction or sale? Might have to flip a coin. Just bought a worn 1876 Victoria. Might have to toss that one for the decision.

Auction is the only way this coin sells...nobody in their right mind will buy on a straight sal.....sorry never mind. Autocorrect is a bugger

I like to buy the pre-dip dip

Do we have a picture of this "coin" on a sigma. Or is that the reason that it gets moved on,as soon as you see it in real life. 🤔😁🤔😁

I actually did sigma-test it, but it's not one of the "approved" gold coins in the list, but was close enough to know that it was ~90% Au. Who knows what it's been alloyed with!
